And they’re wrong, aren’t they, about MF “dumping” her? I thought she cheated on him with JoJo when MF was in New Zealand filming the hobbit, or have I woven that together out of whole cloth? And yet they both say it was an amicable separation. I was under the impression they’d grown apart.
I never cared much for AA and I think she’s a mediocre actor, so I pay little attention to her but I wouldn’t wish this crap on anyone.

One of the things I liked about following her is that she re-tweeted lots of interesting stuff that she’s passionate about and I wouldn’t have heard about otherwise. I can’t comment about this particular situation because I don’t even know what happened, but if it’s anything like what‘s happened before, she does come back even more passionate than before. And she always has lots of support from her loyal fans when she returns.

Well, I don't really know that much about her (or MF for that matter) but I did a bit of research and found out that the last Hobbit movie finished filming in 2012 and I found a quote from 2018 by AA saying that she and Jonjo met and had been dating out of the public eye for about a "year". So that would mean she didn't even know the guy during the filming of the Hobbit in 2012.
But like I said, I don't follow or care about AA so I'm not up on any gossip about her. I feel the same way about her as I do MF. Both, are so-so actors but but nothing special - limited in their appeal to me.

As for this controversy swirling about social media concerning what AA and JR tweeted about, it reminds me of when Margaret Atwood was slagged all over Twitter etc. and called a "bad feminist" because of what she supported (she had the audacity to question some extremists in the #Metoo movement). She replied in a scathing op-ed in the Globe and Mail - www.theglobeandmail.com/amp/opinion/am-i-a-bad-feminist/article37591823/These excerpts struck me as especially astute - "In times of extremes, extremists win. Their ideology becomes a religion, anyone who doesn't puppet their views is seen as an apostate, a heretic or a traitor, and moderates in the middle are annihilated... A war among women, as opposed to a war on women, is always pleasing to those who do not wish women well."

I cannot be on their side for what was posted or the behavior they were defending. I just don’t like social media vigilante justice.

Good for you! I think one of the biggest errors in modern activism is how people can't feel the most minimal empathy for people who doesn't think like themselves and just enjoy when rivals are harrassed in a such a way on social media. It's a huge mistake, especially when defending minorities, because well, they are minorities! It could seem certain opinions are the dominant ones when everyone agreed with you on Twitter but more often than not, it's the opposite in the real world and when these "activists" behave like bullies instead of calmly and rationally explaining why they are right they not just not help the people they supposedly are defending but they are damaging them! It's just divisive and most often than not, these "activists" are just happy with showing themselves like "heroes" and don't actually care for the consequences of create so much animosity. Yes, friends on social media would agreed with them but do someone really thinks JK Rowling would be affected by this? But the press reported it and people read it and for good or bad most people in real world would agreed with her because sadly that's the majority view and the ones who would be judged are not the activists that behaved like idiots but the minorities!
It's not just a big error but a very damaging one! And I would dare to say these kind of accounts doesn't even care because they tend to be deluted and yes, over-priviliged people who use social causes for their very own fandoms wars. They used to be on Tumblr where they were mainly ignored but now they are on Twitter which it's the place journalists live.

This whole level of snarkiness reminds me of the French Court back in the day, where your status was based on how cutting and witty you could be. It’s just public cruelty.
Did anyone see that picture of Prince Phillip the DM posted? It’s a terrible picture, he looks awful. He must have had a fall b/c he’s got a bashed up eye, and people are making all sorts of terrible jokes about it! I mean the man is not well, he’s 98 or something, and people are making fun of him and egging each other on. Terrible behavior!
My heart just goes out to him. This is likely his last christmas and he wanted to spend it with his wife instead of being in hospital, and folks are making death jokes. Social media really can be crap.

Yup, and JK gets tons of hate, too, but I don’t think she cares as much as AA. She's a billionaire. AA is not.
I can't understand these "feminist" women. Why do they feel threatened by trans women?
Why do they have to make a point on insisting that there are only two sexes? And then , like AA, say they support trans people? How?

The first thing I thought was that he resembled Nosferatu.
