It seemed it wasn’t visible but it was a tweet by TIFF announcing Louis Wain as one of the films that will be also show outside Toronto.

By the way, I heard Anne Thompson, one of the very few nice award pundits out there, using a derogatory tone towards this movie when saying that “she can’t wait for TPOTD but Louis Wain looks like another TIG”. Kind of ironic because she championed TIG!!! At least, I, a nobody, always said it was a very conventional film! Lol
And TBH, I don’t know what she meant! Maybe that it seems conventional because it’s a bio and that BC is in it but I would say that TIG was more a thriller than a bio. I remember that the Film Comment review agreed with it and compared it with the Avengers movies (BC was just announced for Dr. Strange) because it was mainly about a team of super smart individuals saving the world for annihilation. Seriously, how could Louis Wain be something like that? Compared it to Bright Eyes or another “conventional” popular bio about painters but TIG?! It is just dumb!
The Courier is more similar to TIG but it was lucky of not being trapped in the Oscar game so it won’t receive sardonic comments by the same people that promoted it for awards in the first place!
Anyway, I hope Louis Wain surprise everyone and that Will Sharpe displays the same talents that were acclaimed by people like Paul Thomas Anderson!

The time for Louis Wain that someone tweeted is incorrect. It takes place Saturday September 11 at 9:30 pm. I think on the 12th is their digital screening that people can watch from home.
So it looks like Benedict will be there (I hope!) from the 10-12 September.

I’m so nervous now about being able to get tickets! My sister said she saw someone on a talk show this morning urging everyone to hurry and get their TIFF tickets, so she asked me why I had to wait until Saturday.
They have a list of dates for when we can get tickets, and TIFF individual members (which I am) can order tickets on Saturday. Before then, you can get tickets if you bought ticket packages or if you’re a higher-level member (which costs a lot more). And finally on Monday, the tickets go on sale to the public.
The local evening tv news just now did a little story about TIFF. They mentioned Benedict, among other celebrities expected to be there. During the voiceover, they showed a bunch of little clips of previous TIFF red carpets and movies. In the middle of all that, they showed 2-3 seconds of the Louis Wain clip we saw today, with Benedict and Claire Foy.
