It's intriguing that he or his people put in his CV that he is adapting both, book and film, but it's very difficult to know at this stage which would have a bigger influence. It sounds kind of obvious to me when I noticed that it's produced by the same company that produced the original! Maybe it's just a publicity stunt to re-release the old film on DVD when hey release the new one! And of course it's on YouTube! youtu.be/tedDxHqn6-YAfter watched it, I totally doubt they plan to remake it! Visually it's of course stunning. It's Flitz Lang! The few scenes that were taken from the books are brutal, esp. the scene in the train station but the rest is pure old Hollywood! It's entertaining and great but that's not what modern audiences or producers like nowadays. Also there is just one scene in rural England! Meanwhile the poor guy in the book was suffering hiding in the subsoil, the guy in the movie was romancing a beautiful girl! Now I have to watch the Peter O'Toole version!

Slightly out of theme but it seems the Peter O’Toole movie will be realesed on both Blu-Ray and DVD:
It's not so visually beautiful as the Fritz Lang versión but it’s much more faithful and O’Toole is great, of course!

Exciting news! Really, really, really hope this one gets made! Whenever I see PO'T in a role (which is quite a lot, actually because he is one of my favourite actors) I can easily see BC in that very same role! He would (and still could, frankly) have made a magnificent Lawrence of Arabia!

Peter O'Toole's version was good and faithful but very TV-ish. Fritz Lang's was also good but they just took the premise and converted it to a romantic comedy adventure! The cinematography was glorious, tho.
It's a very cinematic book and it has a huge potential for a movie.
This is also one of my favorite announced projects. I don't know too much about the director. I recently read about his documentary about a Spanish con man so when I googled him I was surprised to see that some of the results were in purple!

I loved his walk, loose limbed like a dancer.

I could also see BC totally in Peter O'Toole's role in My Favourite Year!
And as Becket as well.

...so when I googled him I was surprised to see that some of the results were in purple! What does it mean?
