Have to say I heard Harry Styles' solo record on the radio recently and was impressed. The boy can sing and it was an ok song. I didn't know it was him until the DJ said it when the song was finished. Very different to the One Direction stuff which is very much not my cup of tea.
So maybe he can act too!
I don't know about an Oscar but I woudn't bet against BC losing out to him at next year's BAFTAs. 😀. Being trumped by a boybander is about the only snub the BAFTA panel haven't bestowed upon BC at this point.

I don't actually have anything against Harry Styles. I'm not familiar with his music. He may be excellent in Dunkirk, but it has so many very respected actors in the cast that I can't imagine them singling him out. Tom Hardy's part sounds very dramatic and I have heard Cillian Murphy mentioned as a possible awards hopeful.

I was only joking about Harry Styles. 😀 I would be astonished if he were to win any award for Dunkirk. Interesting that WWII is still such a popular movie subject.

I have a fetich for WWII movies but I'm not a Christopher Nolan fan...although I like the new Harry Style's song. I guess I will watch Dunkirk! 😉

Oddly enough, the only Christopher Nolan movie I've seen is Memento. I remember liking it, but I haven't seen it in years. I like some WWII movies, but I don't know why Hollywood is so obsessed with them.

I like Memento and the one with Al Pacino and Robin Williams. His Batman and the ones about Magicians are boring and too solemn for my taste! I think I haven't watched the rest! Maybe I actually like him!

I agree. They may have good awards prediction skills from long study of the subject, I don't know, but I care more that the movie is good than if it wins awards. And the best film doesn't always win IMO.

I liked Momento, and the Batman films. I didn't see all of Interstellar but it seemed very good. It and The Prestige (which I also liked) have surprise endings, similar to the unusual twists in Momento, and Hollywood does love those. Like how M. Night Shyamalan was so popular for a long time.
