Apparently the Oscars may be booking as many Avengers as possible to host. Will BC be available Feb. 22, or on baby duty?
It now appears that the show, airing Feb. 24, won't have a traditional host, but instead will rely on a rotating cast of stars to introduce various segments.
And to up the star quotient even further, the show's producers are currently lining up appearances by as many big-name castmembers from Marvel's sprawling Avengers franchise as possible.

Well, if he is going to be hosting the Laureus awards on February 18th, then I suppose he could, in theory, be just as available to be part of the Oscar awards on February 24th, right?
But, I haven't noticed any confirmation that he actually IS hosting the Laureus awards - just that one mention but nothing official from Laureus... yet.
The only thing I like about the Oscars is looking at the noms and viewing some of the films mentioned (unless of course BC was nominated and then it would be a chance to see plenty of interviews, photoshoots, etc.).
This year I have seen Roma (on Netflix and LOVED it!) and hope to see The Favourite this coming Tuesday. I would love to see Vice but I think I missed it in our hometown cinema so that one might require some travel. We also have The Green Book playing currently but I saw the previews and frankly I wasn't impressed.
The BlacKkKlansman hasn't come yet to our city and Bohemian Rhapsody (not a big Queen fan), A Star is Born (not a big fan of Lady Gaga and I can't stand Bradley Cooper) and Black Panther (or any comic book movie that doesn't star BC) just aren't things that interest me enough to shell out $$$ for the cinema tickets.
Other than the obvious exceptions, I don't think this year's crop of movies is that good to be honest. The most exciting material is on the smaller screen to me. I'd stack up Patrick Melrose against a lot of the nominees and
I think it would stand pretty tall with that competition.
