I was seeing the new trailer of Natalie Portman film on You Tube and it recommended me HBO's Parade's End trailer (nothing to do with Portman's film but maybe it's because my history...Maybe!), I watched it and thought how Christopher was the complete opposite of Patrick Melrose! Yes, they both are very posh and kind of traumatized by their own social class but their personalities and the performances BC gave are so different.
Then I opened BC's Twitter tag and the first comment I saw was an idiot saying he always plays the same character and that he suspects he is like that in real life! Really? How? A crazy drug adict with suicidal impulses but also serial womanizer or "a paradigm of honorable behaivor" and the most decent man in Britain!

This probably means that the idiot only actually saw BC in one or two roles, and assumes the others are similar based on general descriptions ('posh', 'genius' etc.)

Lol people post the most ignorant stuff online. I usually double check to make sure I’m not being a total ass when posting for all the world to see. I guess some folks don’t care.

I think it's from the Bluray or maybe the Region 2 DVD. Yes, I have both! I'm not sure I can watch the DVD anymore because my multi region DVD player isn't working anymore!

I just re watched the last two episodes. The whole series is great. Actually I think the last minutes of the fifth episode are the weakest of the whole series but I really enjoy the war/military stuff. All the soldiers seems to be at the limits of madness if not totally mad. Those scenes are a mixture of broad comedy and horror.
Anyway, the series is beautifully filmed. The shots of the No Man's Land are so evocative and phantasmagoric as the shots of the big tree at Groby. The series is obviously considered mainly a Tom Stoppard product and undoubtedly he and his script are the real stars but Susanna White deserves more credit!
I actually watched one of her movies years ago, Our Kind of Traitor, a John LeCarre adaptation, and I have to say that I was disappointed with her work there but she showed in Parade's End that she has a good eye for doing some beautiful shots.

Re: Susanna White's other work, I have seen her episodes of Generation Kill (she did 4 out of the 7), as well as her episodes of Masters of Sex, Boardwalk Empire, and Billions and all were excellent. Parade's End probably was her finest work but her efforts in Generation Kill weren't far behind. I still wish that show hadn't got the chop. It was an interesting look at a war not often examined.
