Unrelated to BC, but I thought this Facebook post was so funny. "When Stephen Hawking met Jim Carrey."

Look at the smile on Stephen’s face! He really was a naughty man, lol.

I hadn't seen it for years but "Hawking" has just been playing on the television. BC was absolutely terrific in it! And it was all really very good! So much more touching than the film, and they actually included some science!

I just watched it, too. It was the second time I've seen it. I know nothing at all about science, but I found it fascinating! I recognized the actor who plays his father as the teacher hosting the school Christmas concert in Love Actually. He has such a distinct look!
I once had Hawking on a list of Amazon DVDs that I wanted for Christmas, but my sister looked up the wrong thing and ordered me what looks like a PBS documentary also called Hawking. She didn't want to return it, so I still have it, and it's still in its plastic wrapper.

Hawking is also available on Amazon Prime. I watch it fairly regularly, ‘cos it’s one of my favorites. Ben is just so good in it! His terror on finding out what’s wrong with him, his arrogance in confronting Hoyle, his perfect physicality, those two adorable guys picking up their Nobel Prize, and of course, the bathing scenes. I love the science bits (not that I understand it) but it’s explained well enough that a doofus like me can begin to understand, his joy on the platform figuring out the past is pear shaped, lol, it’s all so good. It’s a small film, but lovely.

Benedict is mentioned as one of the guests paying tribute to Stephen Hawking in an upcoming tv special. It’s part of ABC’s 25 Days of Christmas.

I didn’t realize that the man who just won a Nobel prize was the man depicted in Hawking,

It's a nice little scientific film. Much more than the Redmayne's version. I think the Academia life felt very real and the passion and love for science is very palpable. That was what catched my eye the first time I watched it. It was many years ago and I didn't knew who the main actor was. At the beginning, I didn't knew it was about Stephen Hawking! It was on Hallmark. Not exactly the best channel for good movies. I was switching channels and the authenticity of it catched my eye. It didn't looked like your typical Hallmark movie, they were at Cambridge and were talking about science!
