I didn't check. I'll take your word for it that it wasn't (lol). But there were supposed to be going to be studiocanal/Sunnymarch productions.....
It might be because I just like the idea but BC always did have a habit of referencing actual projects in comments that were ostensibly about something else. That's why I'm slightly suspecting that there really may be a prospective something in the works (even as at a very early stage that might come to nothing) with Paul Thomas Anderson.

That would be great! And yes, he tend to suggests things like that but I actually didn’t thought too much about him naming Paul Thomas Anderson. I suspected of the musical/horror bit, tho.! LOL

I think the musical/horror thing was just that someone asked what type of project he had not done before, and that was his answer. Then they asked if he would like to work in those genres, and he said 'ummm...sure' because who knows? And it was repeated over and over and turned into him 'wanting' to do do those.
I agree that a Paul Thomas Anderson project is coming. When he mentioned wanting to work with Spielberg...War Horse appeared. When he said he'd like to play Smaug...The Hobbit happened. When he said he'd like to do Hamlet and Patrick Melrose...well, you see where I am going.

I try not to get too excited about new project until they are actually in making. There have been several announcements and then nothing happened, like Blood Mountain (couldn't say I regret it) or Yellow Bird. War Magician and Rogue Male seem to me a bit similar in this aspect. Also, we haven't heard about any progress with "How to Stop Time" for a while. And Rio was to begin in March and April but it didn't happen and now Michelle Williams starts another projects and Benedict will shoot that Gypsy Boy soon so I am not sure where he would fit it?

He is still attached to Rio or whatever it is called now. He confirmed it in a recent interview in Los Ángeles. Guadagnino said sometime ago that they will shooting it in Spring and technically early June is still spring so maybe it will be around late May or early June. Still Williams has indeed a new movie around that time so I don’t know if it’s not Spring now or if she abandoned the project. Anyway the last news was BC saying he will do it.
How to Stop Time and Rogue Male doesn’t even have a script when they were announced. HTST seems to be moving, tho. But still, it could take years or be8ng cancelled.
Producers of Gypsy Boys seemed to be working in it until recently. Supposedly they would shoot it in the Summer, according to the announcement.

Yellow Bird was actually a great sounding project. I even read the book and it was beautiful. Very poetic descriptions of the most harrowing aspects of war. BC’s character was much younger than him but it was a great role: a Sgt. who goes mad. It would be directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Lowery but he preferred to do Pete’s Dragon with Disney. After he left, BC and Will Poulter, who was also in the cast (and said in interviews he was very excited with the idea of working with BC), abandoned the project. The third originally cast actor stayed, Tye Sheridan. It was filmed with a new director and cast, including Jennifer Aniston but it wasn’t very successful: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yellow_Birds_(film)
