This is a very. worrisome time for us in the states. Things aren’t looking as good as I would have hoped, but it’s still early and there’s a lot of ballots to count. I just wanted this election to excoriate him, to leave him no cause for court cases. And those 2 horrible Mrs, McConnell & Graham, have actually retained their seats!
I just don’t understand my country anymore.

Have you ever had one of those days when something just seems to be trying to tell you somebody?

It seems Biden will win. I hope so! But I'm in awe reading the racist comments by Democrats on Twitter angry at Latinos that strongly voted for Trump! WTF? As someone said that's why they lost white working class votes in the first place and now they seem decided to lost Hispanics! By the way I saw a graphic that suggests that Trump is doing better this election with minorities in general (not just Latinos!) than the past election. The demographic he is losing is white men.
Also the main reason why Cubans in the USA are so conservative it's not because they are "white", kids. It's because most of them fled a country governed by a (white!) communist dictator! It's a very basic and obvious historical truth that it amazes me some are re-writing it into a race conflict! Yes, I know! Sometimes that conservatism is frustrating but that doesn't justify the racist lies! Also it seems this year, there are a lot of Venezuelan right-wingers again thanks to another Communist dictator (he wasn't white! His successor Maduro kind of looks white, tho.!). And before the election The Guardian published an article about Mexican fans of Lopez Obrador, our left wing president, being pro-Trump. I personally rolled my eyes but they are both nationalist and populist so why not? I guess! This is incidental but journalists that are usually called conservative by our left-wing president are actually cheering for Biden not Trump on social media.
It will be interesting to see the demographics when this finished but hopefully wokes and Democrats would be more mature this time and coolly analyze what they are doing wrong and try to fix that. Yes, I know Trump is bad, really really bad and people shouldn't be voting for him but surely there is something also real bad with your side if some people are preferring him to you beyond their (real or imaginary) skin color!
EDITED I just saw a "why Hispanics are voting for a guy that puts their kids in cages?" post. TBH I don't know exactly why people can vote for Trump at all. Anything it's better than him but the original photo of those kids in cages weren't during Trump administration but Obama's. So yes, Trump puts innocent kids in cages but also did Obama and Democrats! It's not just a Republican sin but an American government one and they aren't alone. There are also the governments of the countries they are fleeing for. If they were real activists they would know this but they aren't. They are just using a huge human tragedy to make themselves look good on Twitter meanwhile disparaging a very important in numbers minority in the USA.

I won’t believe Biden has won until I see him sworn in as President. It simply beggars belief that so many people are still voting for Trump. It is so depressing.

It's perplexing but at the same time I see the stupid comments on Twitter and I can understand why people just hate the other side more! I mean I don't hate Biden. I think he is a very conventional candidate and that's his strongest point and again even a rock is better than Trump but some anti-Trump people are just so dumb. For example, I saw someone saying that they need to "educate" Cubans so they understand socialism isn't communism. Ok but how it's possible that a side so worried for using correct terms to not offend people could think it's good idea to "educate" Cubans about the the benefits of socialism! Again it's frustrating to see how Conservatives they tend to be but we are talking about people who have family members that were killed or tortured by a Communist government trying to "educated" them. Why not try to "convince" them instead? How can they be so ignorant about recent history? The worst part is that Biden is far away of being considered a socialist much less a communist but a lot of politicians around him like to use those kind of socialist or even communist terms, probably without even understand them, or just to pandering to left wing extremists. Some of those people are beloved by the press and considered the party's future: Harris and AOC, for example.
This is more insignificant but again it's so dumb and could be telling more than what it seems. Another Twitter user was surprised that Latinos voted for Trump not just because he was so rude to them but because Biden was so nice, he even used the Latinx slur... I mean term 😉 I hate that word and according to surveys, most latinos didn't even know it exists and those who knows it also hate it. It is mostly a woke white people's conform word. The only Latinos who like it are very few rich kids from elite Universities in the USA. I know they are trying to be nice but it feels like a bunch of foreign kids are trying to impose us an unpronounceable word on us because they are much better than us and know better. In woke language: it kind of feel like colonialism! Lol. The point is a why not listening to real people and do what any smart politician would do: call people with the term they feel more comfortable with but he didn't. He listened just the elite woke in his party. The ones who are so smug that enjoy to decide what it's or not offensive for others.
It's urgent that the Democrats go out and meet with people outside their little bubble. It doesn't matter if they win or lose. I think things would be better with Biden but it's very worrying that he isn't winning in a huge way against someone like Trump. The problem still there and it could have awful consequences soon or later.

Not just more Hispanics and Blacks are voting for Trump this year than before but also LGBT people! I already saw someone saying it's because they are white! No, Biden is winning thanks to whites, straight whites apparently!
Democrats need to run away from identity politics like the plague and must not listening to us Twitter lost souls anymore! And the press should do the same!

I remember an interview with Obama where he explained that his cell phone had everything disabled on it except for the actual phone part. He was aware that everything he said, did or wrote as president would be seen by the entire world, so he didn’t want the ability to spontaneously post anything online. When Trump was elected, I naively thought it would be the same with him - his people would tell him what he could and couldn’t do so that his outrageous behaviour wouldn’t continue into his presidency. Boy, was I wrong! If he actually wins again, he’ll be worse than ever. I don’t even live there and yet I feel sick thinking about it.

Not that this is okay, but those cages were used for a maximum of 72 hours at a time during Obama's administration. Trump just leaves the children in there, a lot more of them, and over 500 now they can't locate the parents anymore.

I don't think he will win but it's still bad that he isn't losing in a big way and I bet his influence would still feel for a long time!
I just saw some comments on Twitter by some Latinos and they are doing the same that their white American counterparts: Cubans are evil and Mexicans in Texas are stupid. There is a lot of misogyny accusations too. Very little auto criticism. Almost no one is asking what my side is doing wrong? One person actually mentioned Obama's policy against immigration. He said that maybe some of the Latin men voting against Biden remember the massive deportations by Obama when Biden was his vice president. It's complex because Trump's discourse was much more aggressive and plainly nasty and he did awful things against immigrants but Obama indeed deported much more people and he basically paved the way if not began with the aggressive policy Trump continued or implemented in a much more inept way (again he was the one who first "jailed" kids and a lot of human rights violations related to migrant kids are from his period. Trump just continued it and extended it to separate families. Obama was more about "abusing" kids who traveled alone) . Don't get me wrong, it was easy for people like to get a Visa. Obama easier the process. Trump was stricter which it's dumb because middle class Mexican like to go to the USA to waste their money and they don't stay there but the issue is there: he has a record deporting poor Mexican men. The kind of Mexicans that actually lived in the USA and surely knew other Mexican who legally live and vote there. People who were part of the community. Also, and this is about Middle classes who actually doesn't vote there, I personally know two women whose visas were cancelled after the American government discovered they were Mexicans who lived in Mexico but have American kids. It's very incidental so I don't know if it was a policy but it was kind of interesting because it's not against the law to have American kids and they didn't received any explanation. Just that they should try to do all the process for the Visa again but when they tried they refused them. Again without any explanation! They thought Obama administration feared they would stay there and claim benefits.
Again I don't know if all that explains it but at least they should try to look for their own fails instead of just calling everyone who voted against their candidate racist and misogynist. This attitude is/was a big issue in the past with working class white people and the polls are suggesting it could be a huge problem in the future with minorities! It should be a big woke moment for the people who claim to defend minorities but instead they are blaming it to the ignorance and inferiority of those minorities!

Trump just leaves the children in there, a lot more of them, and over 500 now they can't locate the parents anymore. Agreed that Trump is worst in general but again he was continuing Obama policies. I really like Obama in general but I think he opened the door for Trump in more than one way. His immigration policy was particularly awful and cruel but he was intelligent enough to mostly use others to commit the human rights violations. For example, they paid to Mexican government to violently stop Central Americans who were basically refugees fleeing the war and who by all international standards they had to admit if they could arrive to their country and asked for the refugees status. When Trump discovered the intricate system they were paying for, he accused Mexico of not doing enough even when they were paying for it, said that Obama was a fool and create a circus media. He also tried to dismantle it the system. In other words, even when it was in the press, Obama was mostly discreet about it. Trump wasn't and conducted it in a very inept way. It doesn't mean Trump is better. Of course, he isn't! But there is a lot of hypocrisy about it on American press.
