I’m watching tv and they just showed an ad for an upcoming movie, The Whistleblower. Just as I was wondering why it sounded so familiar, they showed Benedict! It’s on at 11:30 tonight, so it looks like I’ll be staying up late. They’re repeating it tomorrow night at 3 a.m., too. No wonder I’ve never seen it on tv before - they only show it in the middle of the night!

I'm glad you got a chance to see The Whistleblower finally. I saw a few years back when we had Kodi and really enjoyed it. Ben was an added delight even though his role was very small, but I also really found the entire movie fascinating.
I remember as well that, much to my chagrin, it was Dan who identified BC before I did! And don't think he didn't chide me for that. 🤣 in fact I was so thrown off by his American accent that I was 100% convinced it was him until I read his name in the credits!
The real life story that this film is based on is also a very interesting read.

I thought it was pretty good! The human trafficking story, though, seems so familiar now because every crime series on tv has covered it. Benedict was in far too little of it! His American accent was very much like the accent he gave the police detective in the Mad Libs skit he did with Jimmy Fallon. Ha!
I was wondering why they gave him dark hair, even though he was always wearing a hat when they showed him. And then I remembered that Sherlock was just beginning at around the same time, so that was his Sherlock hair.
I find Rachel Weisz difficult to watch because she’s so inexpressive. I’ve seen her in a few things and she’s the same each time. So she’s either playing the same types of characters each time, or she’s just like that in real life.
I recognized a Canadian actor in the movie, and the credits confirmed that it’s partially a Canadian production. I’d be interested in knowing what was filmed here.
