Spike Lee won! I’m very happy for him! The award doesn’t mean anything but he is one of those New Yorker geniuses that were ignored for years (like Scorsese or Al Pacino).
Sad about Paul Schrader but well, again they don’t actually need it but it’s nice!

Olivia Colman is hilarious! I haven’t seen her movie but I’m happy she won so that she could give that thank-you speech.

I liked Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse very much. The animation is great. About Cuarón, that tweet is from September/2018. According to the Roma's Imdb page there are many cinematographers and camera operators. Olivares is one of them. I don't know if Cuarón thanked others and not him because I didn't watch anything of the Oscars. Attachment Deleted

I think it’s a thread. I don’t know which I posted it but the last tweet was about the ceremony. I don’t know what happened but a lot of people who work in Mexican film industry are questioning Cuarón. Most are linking this video: I am not sure if the speculation began with the video itself or if they know the details behind the scenes. A few of them seems to personally know the young cinematographer. The IMDb page is mentioned on the video. For what I understand, Cuarón invented a new credit for him, something like “Coordinator y colaborador de fotografía” . That doesn’t exist and that’s why IMDb didn’t gave it to him. Cuarón was questioned about what that job means by an American journalist there. EDITED: That site is very involve they published shooting files with both men named as co-directors. Who know what happened during the shooting (if they co-directed or not in the actual practice) and why he didn't received the credit? It certainly doesn't look good on Cuarón. Anyway the guy hasn't talked. Some people are suggesting he can't because a NDA or something similar.

Fun fact: two of the nominated animated shorts - Weekends and Bao - are by Canadians. Bao just won. The Weekends animator is even from my city! It seems the Mexican animators of Spider-Man are not just Mexican but also from my city! At least a few of them! So crazy! Good for them!

I did not see Spiderman, but both my husband (who doesn't like superhero films) and my son (who does) loved it.
