It would be great if he achieve the record. Also, it was a great performance but the frustration would not be so big as with him losing for Patrick Melrose!
HBO is better doing award campaignd than Showtime. They just need to believe he has an opportunity.

BC wasn't submitted by Marvel. They chose the lead (the wonderful Wright), the late Boseman (they would had nominated him no matter what and he probably will win) and Hayley Atwell.
A lot of people thought BC should had been submitted and that they knew it because they submitted *his* episdode but I suspect they went for a female because they already had selected two (black) men. By the way, neither of them are professional voice actors so real professionals were also ignored even when they, alongside BC, were better reviewed than the Marvel stars in general.

The Emmys like the Oscar are a joke. At least when BC won it, they used to watch the submitted series because it was voted by a committee of volunteers. Years later they changed the rules to inject more young “diverse” blood (not the old “farts” with a lot of free time… to actually watch things!) and now everyone can vote and, like the Oscars, a lot of voters just doesn’t watch things (remember when one Patrick Melrose producer said they knew they will lost because people in the room didn’t applauded so loud like others productions and it was clear to them that they haven’t watched it and didn’t recognized the series) but always has existed the issue that they tend to vote for the same things years after years even when the quality is not the same! In other words, how it’s possible that Ted Lasso got so many nominations when sadly the new season was unwatchable! Lol Seriously, I loved the first one but the second one was just awful! Especially, the Christmas special!
I don’t know, they are both silly award but I am probably more cool with CODA winning over TPOTD (it’s the Oscars so not a surprise and TPOTD still gained a lot of popularity thanks to Netflix campaign but also I feel sorry for the Academy, that ceremony went monumentally wrong! Lol) than Patrick Melrose losing to the mediocre Ryan Murphy because not just PM needed and deserved to be in the spotlight but the Emmys, some mediocre critics and award fanboys were so fascinating by Murphy that he automatically won and was nominated without deserving awards. That series didn’t even receive strong reviews! Again, an obsession with someone who is entertaining, funny and trashy but not exactly a major talent. Such a shame! I still can’t get over the fact that, for example, an awful actor like Ricky Martin was nominated over Hugo Weaving! That’s pure bizarreness!
Also I have said this before but Murphy tried to do a comedy about an abused young man that mixed difficult themes with a strong visual style like PM (he basically copied Wes Anderson) before he got popular and it ended with a horrible movie called Running with Scissors that felt like a pedophile apology. He clearly didn’t have the talent to do delicate sensitive stuff except when it’s presented in a morbid sensationalist way. Clearly, the PM creators were much more talented.

I just thought that even when there are too many awards out there, it should be a serious one for TV! Probably in different leves but all of them: Emmys, Golden Globes and Critics Choice are shitty awards! I would said that at least the TV BAFTAS are much superior to the Film BAFTAS with a more daring taste but they are also very politically influenced. That’s why they were the first to go with a “diverse” scheme (diversity is good, of course, but the ones who have to change are the production companies not the awards!).
It needs to be something like NYFCC, LAFC or NSFC. You can agreed or not with them but they are actually freely and knowledgeably voting.

Especially, the Christmas special! The Ted Lasso love this year is beyond understanding. I think it's in the level of CODA for a series in the sense that it has mostly good and likable characters. Perhaps they're not perfect but generally try to be better. I liked season 1. Didn't finish season 2. Someone I follow on twitter goes very often to the set -setlock style- and -although I'm sure the actors with whom she takes pictures are lovely- I muted her because with one Sherlock level of adoration is sufficient. Our Flag Means Death fanatics must be disappointed because it was totally snubbed.

Every year, there are more and more shows nominated that I’ve never seen or even heard of! I don’t have most of the channels where they’re shown, and none of the shows interest me enough to spend the money to watch them. At least with Sherlock way back, it was worth getting Netflix just to be able to finally see it.
