The new Entertainment Weekly has their early Emmy nomination predictions, and they include Brexit for Outstanding Television Movie. They aren’t predicting a nomination for Best Actor for Benedict, though.
The actual Emmy nominations will be announced in June.

I looked at the nomination predictions for this on Gold Derby and they had Brexit in fourth place (but waaaaay back with only 32 total votes, whereas the frontrunner Black Mirror: Bandersnatch had 994 votes).
Funny thing is I noticed the second place programme, Deadwood: The Movie had 213 votes and it hasn't even aired yet! WTF? It's due to hit TV screens May 31st. I expect it will be good too, but really this seems totally pointless when something that hasn't even aired yet already has that many votes!

Bandersnatch is just a novelty but it's not particularly good!
It's too early, I'm sure there will be other contenders but if the competition is this weak then probably Brexit has a good chance. The only con point is that it's not exactly a popular film and that clearly voters are very lazy to see and appreciate difficult and challenging stuff (in this case political and contentious film from another country).

I think anything from the Deadwood "franchise" would have to be considered fairly strong competition. It's got a great pedigree (actors, production wise, writing, critical respect, etc.) and a very large built in audience who are chomping at the bit to see this one more time.
I just read this morning an article from Rolling Stone about it and I'd say the anticipation for this TV movie is pretty high. I'm even considering paying double for the premium Crave service just because of it (and yes, I reeeeeeally do love everything about that show that much!).
The "King Lear" production probably is more like PM or Brexit, in that it got very limited exposure across the pond even though it has an impeccable pedigree (Andrew Scott was in it and I don't think I saw even any Sherlock fans take note of that, so that might be an indication of just how under the radar it was). I love anything Shakespearean and the cast is stellar, so I certainly will give it a gander if the opportunity rises to do so.
The Bandersnatch one - I never saw it (I was so unimpressed with that other BM production I saw, I just can't be convinced to watch any more of that series) but it obviously got a lot of buzz and if it is all about getting noticed, then it's strong competition regardless of whether it's up to snuff critically. It certainly has a good headstart in the votes department.
The other top vote-getter was the Peter Dinklage vehicle "My Dinner with Hervè" which I don't think is really any kind of serious competition (limited audience and mediocre reviews). It seems to be (I haven't seen it yet) a more of an ordinary story with a strong lead actor doing most of the heavy lifting.

King Lear was nominated for the SAGs, tho. Actually I remember at least one critic moaning that BC deserved Anthony Hopkis or Antonio Banderas (for Picasso) place in the shortlist.
It was well received but it wasn't exactly a memorable production still SAG voters were more interested on it than on Patrick Melrose and a lot of them are also Emmy's voters. It actually could do better than Patrick Melrose!

I think Tennant and/or Sheen are going to be nominated for Good Omens which I read that is going to be aired just in time for the Emmys.
Why is True Detective still considered a miniseries? I thought they had changed the rules.

I don't know about Good Omens. The critics are being very positive about the main actors performances indeed but the series itself is receiving more mixed reviews.
It seems BC roles is just a cameo. But at least it's a very well received cameo!
