Well, perhaps BC is just on the commitee but it's very probably he's going.

I think it's obvious he will be there and probably he will do that interview promoting this.
Someone said on Twitter that Colin Firth and especially his wife is very involve so they are there all years. Maybe there was some kind of reunion between BC and him during the 1917 shooting (still hoping a big role!!!)
I loved that it practically says Sophie Hunter and husband!
Also that is a big commitee! Have they meeting? Now I'm imagining BC discussing costumes with Justin Bieber!

I think her name being first is just the style of the list. Kind of old fashioned etiquette - like opening up a door for a "lady" or putting a cloak down over a puddle! LOL!
So it looks like my working theory was a complete bust! 🤣😊 The Cumberbatches seem to be still on this side of the pond, in NYC and could be showing up at the Met Gala! That's zero for three for me! Better hold off buying my lottery ticket...👍

If he’s here, why hasn’t he made any appearances anywhere?? Why do I keep seeing Seth Rogan on every talk show promoting some dumb movie, but mainly telling supposedly hilarious stories about how he’s been high every minute of his life?
Surely these talk show can squeeze in Benedict! Please!

Except when she is a widow or an unmarried adult.

Apparently the theme this year is "camp" and I'm already imagining a lot of ex Tumblr users being offended by the costumes! LOL

Why would ex Tumblr users be more offended than the average person? 🤔

It's actually ironic because camp is supposedly something ridiculous and (sometimes inadvertently) funny but it's also strongly connected to classic gay culture so I can see Tumblr "activists" (who surely abandoned the site when it banned porn 😉) being angry with some celebrity who decides to dress himself or herself with something that vaguely looks like old cliche gay stuff. Imagine what they would think if a known straight guy is there dressing as a drag queen? Some years ago it would considered funny but not today. And I'm sure critics wouldn't be actual drag queens, who are famous for their sense of humor!
I'm guessing there were some polemics in the last years. It's impossible that in these dark times someone on social media doesn't feel aggravated with a frivolous event that choose "themes" to dress each year!
