Honestly, that statement by the young Sherlock's father doesn't sound like anything more than an appearance at a convention.
And I certainly hope it is just that. I really don't want any continuation of the show in the form of young Sherlock - especially if it involved such a young form of him (as it would if they utilised the same young actor). I just can't imagine how this would be anything like ACD or even BBC Sherlock related (I also just don't see M&G being involved with it, so it wouldn't be the same in that regard). That sort of thing just isn't necessary IMO.
I also agree completely with Ellie on this one - just let the show go! I loved the show to bits (sometimes embarrassingly so) but why does everything have to go on forever? TFP seems very satisfying as a conclusion to me for now and if, at some time in the future, they do get everyone together for a special that would be fine, but I don't really need it to complete the show. And I certainly think if any special did get made it would be at least a couple of years (probably more) before that would come about (just from the schedules of BC and MF alone, not to mention the others, like M&G et al who would have to be involved). Not to mention this flies directly in the face of what MG just said not even a week ago about how difficult it is to make more Sherlocks for the next little while.

As for the other stuff - TJLC crazies and their #Norbury crap... they are bonkers! But I will save that rant for the other thread.
:-))
