I just checked his IMDB page and this would be his 6th project this year! Excepting Ironbark which it doesn't seem it will happend this year! And The Current War, which it's listed in 2017.
Of course, most of them are cameos (Brexit is his only leading role but I hope he has enough screen time in 1917 to make an impact) but it's still surprising considering it seemed to me this was a slow year!
Next year we probably will have Ironbark and Louis Wain and in 2021, The Power of the Dog and Doctor Strange 2 but I'm sure there will be a lot of surprises in between!

I don’t know why his great acting and comedy skills come a such a surprise to people. We’ve known about it for years!

It’s just that he’s so seamless in layering in the funny stuff. It appears to be such a natural part of his characters that you forget he’s making that happen through his performance. Sometimes I think he doesn’t need to do a comedy b/c his work always has a bit of comedy in it anyway. Bad News is a perfect example. So funny in the midst of a psychotic breakdown. Sherlock, also. Tons of comic absurdity. Sublime.
Several people mentioned that he seemed angry in the trailer b/c ZG was messing up his name. I thought he was about to start laughing! He really has very little ego. Or those idiots who thought he was actually angry when he tackled the big bear on Graham Norton.

There were people thinking he was really angry at ZG?!
I think the surprise wasn't that he is funny but that he was good doing improv with a professional American comedian. TBF British theatre actors aren't know for being good doing improv and I think it's a great compliment for an actor as BC.

Yes, a few clueless people on Twitter thought he was personally upset, instead of acting. 🙄

More about the improvisation in the film: www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/5-things-know-watch-between-173000724.htmlIt would be interesting to see BC in it. British classically trained actors are not considered good doing it. They supposedly are completely faithful to the text and don't know what to do when someone suddenly changed something. That's the cliche! Again, I think it's really cool they highlighted BC in that another quote as one of the actors who was surprisingly very good doing improv.

Zach Galifianakis is on Jimmy Kimmel just now, promoting Between Two Ferns. When Jimmy asks him about the celebrities who are in it, Zach mentions Benedict first!
