I don’t know who votes for those awards, but they gave the Best Actor award to Adam Sandler.

I don’t know who votes for those awards, but they gave the Best Actor award to Adam Sandler. I think they are a mix of people who work in films, journalists and academics. It's a respected award. Sandler is being acclaimed for his performance in Uncut Gems.

8 nominations to the Satellite Awards by The International Press Academy, including Best Picture, Director, Actor and Cinematography. The bastards practically ignored The Irishman in most of the main categories! www.pressacademy.com/2019-ipa-awards/

Golden Globe for Sam Mendes! The critics I follow on Twitter aren't happy! Some of them write in Spanish and I suspect they haven't watched it! One Mexican clarify she did and that it was more a technical achievement than anything but the I guess the Argentinian didnt considering he just re-tweeted someone saying you don't need to watch it to criticize Mendes! 😬
I mean I haven't watched it and I'm sure Scorsese deserved it but I think it looks bad when someone exhibits their bad work habits like that on social media. I won't trust in his review now!
Anyway, the animosity is there! It probably will win Best Picture now!

Golden Globe for Best Picture! They almost totally ignored Netflix. Laura Dern won for Marriage Story. I don't remember anything else. EDITED Apparently Sam Mendes said that it's very difficult to make a movie without big stars and now people on Twitter are screaming that BC and Colin Firth are big stars. He most probably is referring to the two actual main actors but it's still very silly considering how the trailers centers a lot in the cameos of those two! A lot of people will go to watch it thinking their roles are bigger! The mythical Janet Maslin is very happy with the winning! EDITED She is defending it,

I’m pleased with 1917 winning, as well as Rocketman, Fleabag, Olivia Colman (who should have gone onstage for Fleabag), and I think Andrew Scott should have gone onstage for 1917. Seeing the 1917 clip with Benedict was a nice treat!
I also think Ricky Gervais did a great job hosting. He should host all award shows, all the time. It was awkward watching the celebrities in the audience wondering whether it was ok to laugh at some of the things he said, but it was still hilarious.
