We just received our very first region free Bluray/DVD player today!
It was a snap to set up and it plays wonderfully.
Lately Dan and I hae really got into watching foreign language material and soetimes we just can't get it to download on Kodi, so we really wanted to have access to DVDs and Bluray discs from foreign sources. Now with this machine the world is our oyster!
My sister got me a Bluray of Season 4 Sherlock and until now I haven't been able to play it (because we only had a region restricted DVD player). Today ater I installed the nw machine I popped the Sherlock disc in and WOW! the clarity was unbelieveable! Now I know what all the fuss is about Bluray!
We have ordered Patrick Melrose on Bluray and also a movie called Downfall (starring Bruno Ganz as Hitler) on Bluray as well for Xmas presents for ourselves this year. The hardest part will be NOT watchng them if they arrive early!

When I bought a new tv years ago, I bought a DVD/blu-ray player at the same time. Before that, I only had a VHS/DVD combo machine (which I still have and use for my old VHS tapes). But the blu-ray is pretty great, not only for the picture but also for the sound. And blu-rays are region-free, although they’re usually more expensive.
I’ve actually bought the entire Sherlock set twice! The second time, the set had both DVDs and blu-rays (so I technically have 3 sets). I have, at some point, watched each episode while sitting inches away from the tv, pausing every so often to look around. There is just so much to see and enjoy in each scene, and with blu-ray you can really see every detail.
