This is great! BC has a wonderful film career but his best and most daring roles are until now on TV. I guess it's kind of logic these days. There is more liberty on TV right right now. There are a few of very lucky actors who are regularly hired by great filmmakers. A very reduced number of actors. I don't know how easy or difficult it's to enter to that circle but I hope he could do it. He clearly has the interest to work with some of them. It would be great if films like this would had been shown on the big screen everywhere. It's not exactly revolutionary but it was great and I think more European art house kind of film than BBC/PBS prestige production. It seems Koreans agreed with me! They are showing it with Portrait of a Lady on Fire!

It’s interesting that it’s showing at this time of year, and even PBS will be putting it on again in January. But I suppose that there is a bit of a Christmas connection to it, with that incredibly sad walkie-talkie scene.

I just finished watching The Child in a Time on PBS. It gets sadder every time I see it. I need a sequel to this story! I don’t see why Ian McEwan doesn’t write another book where they find little Kate and the all live happily ever after. Is that too much to ask for?
PBS is repeating it a couple of more times this coming week, so I’ll be putting myself through all of this again.
