I really liked her series On Becoming a God in Central Florida. It was VERY quirky and yet fascinating all the same. Dunst has a tough but vulnerable aura about her. Like she was someone aggressively on the edge of falling off a cliff. It irked me when I heard it was not continuing.
I haven't seen a great deal of her work but I did like her in The Beguiled. I have never seen Melancholia but I see it is offered on Amazon Prime so we might watch it today.

Melancholia is great but as I said it was affected by the polemic at Cannes. But yeah, it's a beautiful film.
I think her character in this is similar to her character in The Beguiled. A very passive and naive woman who is unfairly affected by a whirlwind of malice and passion. The "whirlwind" here is mostly BC's character. The rest of the characters, with the exception of Peter, are very oblivious to noticed that there is something very wrong there.
By the way, I found this video on YouTube,

Thanks for posting this. It makes my heart ache a bit though because of the fact that Dan and I were scheduled to go to NZ and had to cancel because of covid! So when I see scenes like this it brings up a wellspring of feelings of "what might have been!"
One other thing - the video's great but what's with that music?!? It's just sooooo inappropriate to me. I would prefer no sound at all, frankly.

They added it early today after the Venice announcement. I posted the Spanish version above.
I found the ratings funny because someone posted the UK version on Twitter and it was for adult audiences because something along the lines of “explicit injury” or something like that but the American/Canadian version says nudity, language and smoking so every country has their own “worries” about films!
In my version, they don’t describe anything. It’s only M for Mature Audiences.
