A character on Melrose Place. I watched that show when I was a kid but TBH I don't remember anything about it, except that I liked Heather Locklear and wanted to live in the apartment building the main characters did cause they had a pool.

Yes, that's what I'm presuming too. If it's true that the filming schedule is already fixed, and there has to still be some doubt re that until it's official, the director must be effectively in place bar technicalities.
I'm still a bit curious re what professional connection may yet emerge with the Chinese director, Jiang Wen. That's he who BC, SH and AA were all photographed with a while back. I have no clue about anything he's done, and I'm supposing a film would be more likely in that direction, but it did rather look as of something could be in the offing there. He looked as if he might be rather fun too

Jiang Wen's more popular movies are violent or action oriented movies with some humor and social comment. He is not the first name I can think to direct this. Maybe for Rogue Male but who knows. We will see...

We will see... I yesterday looked up Jiang Wen's films and thought exactly the same. If he's going to direct something is probably Rogue Male.

Nothing to do with BC, but I noticed in that article that Oscar Isaac is going to star in a film about "Garbo", that not being Greta but about one of the most famous WWII spies. He who was awarded the Iron Cross from Hitler for all the great work he did in running a network of Nazi spies and informants from all over the UK, and for all the invaluable information they provided for the Nazi cause. The only problem was that none of them actually existed. That should be a really good story!
There seem to be an awful lot of WWII stories in development now.
And re the War Magician, after Gary Whitta tweeted whatever he did about Cumberbatching his script, I still think that's on a relatively fast track. That's as long as the script was up to scratch. I think that's not unlikely to be the next film BC does that isn't Marvel or an animation number.

Sounds exciting. I have been wondering how they would deal with the rape. One of my concerns is about whether they are worried about losing a lot of viewers after the second episode. The second book is one massive drug binge. . They need to let the audience know that the entire series will not be like that.

It's an important plot point so they have to mention it but based in what he is saying they will not explicitly show it on screen even when the book actually does it. It's of course understandable because it is an extremely difficult scene to shoot (with a kid) and to watch for the audiences.
I hope they announce the director and the cast soon!
OT but I read a comment by a random person on Facebook saying one of her relatives did a casting audition for a role in The Child in Time. I don't know if it's trustworthy...
