It was the aforementioned last shot, doesn’t? He was finally without a beard and they are toasting. It’s the scene in which he said they finally greeting him as BC and not Phil and he ended crying. And a little embarrassed, iirc. He does look a trifle overwhelmed. 🥺 I can’t imagine. He’d just spent months, years with this character. Then he was filming his last scene as that character, a character who had been vibrant, virile, loud, a force of nature … playing him silent and still because he was dead, literally in a coffin. Oh, during a deadly pandemic, What state of mind was BC in filming those final scenes? Maybe not morbid, but contemplative or thinking about how the character ended up? And to come out of that, into warm light and surrounded by your colleagues toasting you must have been strange, a little like emerging from a dark cinema after seeing complex immersive film into the bright daylight after a matinee. Yes, I’m imagining and projecting a lot, but it must have been a strange, somewhat jarring moment in any case.

Gator and her gang are going nuts about this!
Of course Gator et al have been adamant since media reports came out (and tweets started circulating) during shooting and lockdown, that NONE of BC's family (not Sophie, their children or his parents). They insist that ALL of Ben's (and cast and crew's) references to Sophie and their children in NZ have been total fabrications.
Then along comes this video with photographic proof that Sophie WAS in NZ, on the set when shooting was happening.
Gator was taken aback enough to initially admit that yes, it was Sophie in the video BUT she was acting "bitchy" towards Kirsten Dunst and hinted that she was intimidating her! (WTF? but whatever!).
Aeltri quickly decided that Sophie was PHOTOSHOPPED in! And Gator latched onto this but didn't fully commit to it. But she did start claiming that "something" was amiss and that she thought Sophie's arm was GLOWING GREEN! I think that was her way of hinting it was photoshopped but really it's hilarious and sounds completely unhinged!
When she didn't get a lot of support for this, Gator switched to insisting that the TIMING of the video release was somehow suspect!
What I think this all is, is just Gator flailing around desperately for some attention because she took a body blow to her narrative when that video came out.

Sophie on the set reminds me of something Jane Campion (I think) said in an interview way back. She said the thinks that Sophie convinced him to take the role of Phil because she wanted to see him as a cowboy. And then in the interview video yesterday, Benedict said that an item he took from the set was Phil’s clothes. And he said he’d already worn them to do some work at home.
I’m now picturing Benedict at home in London, in his overalls and chaps, while Sophie gives him jobs to do and watches him work. Ha!

She was part of Jane Campion’s entourage alongside Tanya Seghatchian and Ari Wegner for the Sophia Coppola’s Q&A. I thought that was great because clearly they are very friendly. BC wasn’t there. He and the other actors were probably doing press somewhere else but his wife was there accompanying Campion!
Also there is an interview of BC mentioning Campion stayed some time with him and his family in his rental house in New Zealand after the lockdown was relaxed and before they could continue with the shooting.
