I’ll bet playing the banjo is the piece of this entire shoot that made BC the most nervous. 😂

Holly Hunter is an accomplished pianist and I understand she send a video of her playing the piano for the casting of, well, The Piano. Obviously, it wasn't a requirement here. I wonder how many Hollywood actors can play the banjo!
Kirsten Dunst also mentioned she was learning to play the piano during the quarantine but her character isn't very good doing it so no problem there! On the other hand, BC's character is a virtuoso of the banjo!

Steve Martin is the only actor I know of who plays the banjo, and very well, I might add. He’s been playing for decades.

You are right about Steve Martin! I'm not sure Martin would fit Phil's role, tho.! Lol
Another movie with banjos is O brother where art thou? I don't remember if the main characters played it but they sang and according to the Coen brothers, they hired George Clooney for the lead because he is nephew of Rosemary Clooney and they thought that fact would automatically make him a great singer. They were awfully wrong so he was dubbed in those scenes!

Not new new because he was mentioned on that Australian government site but Peter Sciberras was just added to IMDb page as the film editor.

Gawd! How I loathe the banjo and ukulele! Oh and harmonica, mouth organ and accordian.
No idea why.
