This dad thing is starting to be very annoying. To me too MagdaFR! I guess you could have called me a "Dad" all my life then, because these types of films have ALWAYS been my favourite kind of movies. I am surprised the internet SJW haven't jumped all over this because in woke terms it sounds kind of AGEIST (only truly appealing to people of a certain age), SEXIST (not really appealing to women - WTF???) and SNOBBY (low brows are the target audience). I guess they only care about such things if they are about "trendy" topics like transgender issues!

Sometimes one wonders if these folks watched the same movie? At least it’s clear they’ve all read similar reviews, lol.

They tend to destroy what they are defending so if this were a film about a transgender hero they would try to boycott it because some insignificant detail even before it would made and then there were no movie and no one would know about the achievements of that hypothetical person! After the "OK Boomer" is clear that ageism is not very important... until you are old and it's happening to you, I guess!

Two different reviews: “It’s just an all-around great film” “So, why is it so mediocre?”

Nice review but what is "historical nonfiction tropes"? Statistics?

Nice review but what is "historical nonfiction tropes"? Statistics? I think it means that, as other reviews mentioned, that the approach is not too original, that it a bit formulaic.
It says familiar biopic/historical tropes.
