Sigh. I've got Eris, because, I'm just that lucky, lol. I didn't even realize we were having a spike in cases again. It's only been 3 days but now it's really kicking in and I feel like my lungs are on fire. We haven't had an update in here for a while. How's covid going in your part of the world? Please stay safe everyone!

Oh no, @jbc! Not again! Did you get it at work, do you think? I hope you take very good care of yourself and keep an eye on your systems in case things go south. All my best to you. 🤗🙏🏻

Take care of yourself, jbc12 Best wishes! I read in the newspaper that there is a new spike here, too, but there isn’t any official warning yet.

Did you get it at work, do you think? I did get it at work. One person I worked closely with last week tested positive and sent a text to the team saying he wouldn't be coming in because of that. Though I felt fine on that day, I immediately went for a test just in case, and was shocked when I got a positive, too. The symptoms started for me the next morning. Edit: I just realized that I went on the tube on the 29th, 30th and the 1st (day of test). I could have been carrying it those days and unknowingly spreading it! I wasn't coughing at all, so hopefully not, but it feels terrible to think I could have given it to someone. I genuinely think once you catch it, you become susceptible to catching it again more easily. Everyone I know who has had it ended up catching it multiple times. I read in the newspaper that there is a new spike here, too, but there isn’t any official warning yet. We had some news about it too, but no actual warnings. Everyone's going about as normal so I somehow didn't grasp how fast it was spreading. It turns out that Eris evades both the vaccine anitbodies and the natural immunity you've built up from prior infection. Thank you both so much! I'm doing all right. My only symptoms have been fever and this burning sensation in my lungs, along with a terrible cough. The guy who gave it to me seems to have more symptoms and is having a rough time. Hopefully the worst will be over for both of us soon.

Rest up and take care of yourself jbc!
Hopefully it won't last too long.
As far as covid in my neck of the woods, it's pretty quiet ATM.
The latest stats are from a week ago. In the last 5 months only 3 deaths from covid have occurred. And the occurrence of outbreaks is waaaaay down. At the last report there were no hospitalizations of people with covid.
In my age group about 70% have had 4 vaccine shots. Dan and I have had 6 and plan to get another booster in December.
I wear a mask whenever I go out to a store. We didn't wear a mask on the cinema when we went to see Oppenheimer because the theatre was almost empty.

Thank you for the kind wishes. This round has been so difficult. It's been as hard as catching the Alpha strain. I had to be admitted for 2 days because my breathing was so bad that my oxygen levels plummeted. I'm still testing positive, coughing up a storm and having difficulty breathing normally but, the fever has finally abated and I have no other symptoms. The guy who infected me is also stuck in this stage and not really progressing. Seems this particular strain is tenacious, or at least it is with those of us who have rubbish immune systems.
