I object! “However, in the Season 4 finale, Sherlock was forced to tell Molly he loved her in order to save her life. Molly had always wanted to hear that, but tragically, it just wasn't true.”
It was true! He meant it with every fiber of his very much in love with Molly heart. 😭😭😭

I fell into a twitter thread hole a couple of days ago, and there were just gobs of people hating on the whole series. It was awful! Trashing the show, the plots, even the acting. I almost cried. 😢

I fell into a twitter thread hole a couple of days ago, and there were just gobs of people hating on the whole series. It was awful! Trashing the show, the plots, even the acting. I almost cried. 😢 Those people are never going to let go. They’re the ones who tweeted while the episodes were first airing, saying that they couldn’t watch any more of the show because it was so bad - and other nuts agreed and went along. You can’t tweet during Sherlock! Every second of the show is important, and it’s hard to follow if you’re not paying close attention to all of it. The worst thing about the trashing, though, is when they do it to the people involved with the show - the directors, writers, designers, actors. That’s what makes me want to cry. When Sherlock is mentioned on twitter by one of the cast or crew, there will still always be some compliments combined horrible comments like “I loved the show. It’s too bad that S2 was so awful”. I think they do that so that we know that a fan of the show is saying it and not just some random person who had never even watched it. After S4 aired, there were many BC and Sherlock fan accounts that I had to block because they were relentless in going after everyone they could think of. And since they had so many followers - including me - their hatred spread pretty quickly. Fortunately, I don’t really see those kinds of comments any more because I block them.

The further I get away from the show the more I realise that I liked all of them equally. I'd be shite at making an ordered list of episodes ranked from top to bottom now. Every episode had such gems contained within, I'd feel horrible at putting it above or below another.
I came across Sherlock rather late in my discovery of BC, so I binged most of the series just to see more of this wonderful actor I had "discovered". I just gobbled it up! It was like a cornucopia of wonderful acting, writing and production values that I just feasted on! I was so appreciative of such quality!
And I came even later to the internet "fandom" aspect, so I was shocked at the way people shredded some of the episodes and yet still claimed to be "fans". It was the proverbial "destroying a village to save it" attitude, as far as I am concerned.
And to see it carried over to such great lengths (harassing the creators, cast and crew etc.) just was totally unimaginable!
Most of it seemed to source back to a basic bitterness over the lack of "Johnlock" fulfillment, from what I could see unfortunately. I still think that is the reason the chances of ever seeing more is slim to none. It's just probably not worth the effort for all involved if a vicious negative internet "campaign" is just waiting to pounce on producers and writers, etc.
