I don’t understand how a third party - a crew member - knew that she felt threatened.
I don’t know why TH was late to work and kept everyone waiting. Maybe he really is a jerk and treats people badly, but this isn’t an example of it. He clearly has a short temper, but why is her temper more important than his?

They were shooting in the desert and everyone was waiting for him for three hours. She was really rude but apart the offensive words, she was right about being frustrated. Actually, in a real life job he would had been immediately fired!
I guess the crew member knew she felt threatened because he saw his reaction and knew that she asked for being always accompanied by one of the producers when she had to be with him.

It was clearly stated that she was on time and that TH arrived very late. It's not the first time I read about TH doing that and worse things.

That’s not my interpretation of the situation at all! She said something horrible to a co-worker in front of everyone, and then decided she wanted protection because she was afraid of him. If I were her, and if I complained about a co-worker in front of everyone, I too would fully expect that co-worker to be furious with me. Adding, she said something that it isn't that terrible, imo, that is: he made everybody -cast and crew- wait for hours, he was a fucking cunt (he acted like one and being English I doubt it's such a big insult to him), he should be fined (why not?). Do you think that was the first or only time that happened?

I completely understand her being frustrated by the situation, being forced to wait three hours for him to show up. And yes, it seems that he had been late before. And since they have a fining policy in place, it’s probably something that happens a lot with actors. I don’t even have a problem with her telling him off in front of others - something I would never do because it’s unprofessional. The problem I have with all of this is that she then says she was afraid of him. I don’t believe that at all. They didn’t like each other and didn’t get along, but the whole “needing protection” thing was really nasty.

The thing is he has been physically violent against male co-stars before. Actually he has boasted about it! He slapped Paul Bettany and got in a fight (that he lost!) with Shia LaBoufe. And remember a crew member said he was “quite aggressive" towards her and that’s why she asked for “protection”. The director said he probably had to be more comprehensive towards her, too (and let the female producer/companion being with her on set)
But also and that was my point, everyone seems to be justifying him! He is a “method actor”, “they are just very different actors and a clash was expected”, etc.
Now, it seems he is trending but only because the articles and randoms! Where are the journalists making fun and criticizing him for his Method acting as they did with BC and suggested he abused his co-stars and director? Even when BC said a) he didn’t do Method; b) it was Jane Campion who was behind the eccentric techniques for the film and c) the cast get so well that they had play dates for their kids during the weekends!

Until a few days ago, all the articles about them described their great chemistry!

That’s actually the guy who wrote the book!
And yeah, my point is that something so disturbing and ugly is being sell like just an artistic endeavor and something innocent is transformed to a big offensive thing by social media and entertainment journalism!
Jared Leto is a monster when he jokes about injecting himself with Italian food for a role (something obviously false!) but Hardy is an artist when slapping, beating and threatening co-stars!
Also Paul Dano received a lot of flak for this,
But then just read what George Miller said about Nicholson in that same article and it’s actually the opposite of that!
