I really need to get my eyes checked. I could not figure out why that rope was going through his neck like that. Sigh.

I had thought about going to see Nightmare Alley at my indie theater (the one that requires proof of vaccination and masks), but I just can't stand Bradley Cooper's mustache in this, so I am struggling with deciding whether or not I should go. Petty of me, I know. I am also convinced it is a rip-off of Carnivale, which I know isn't true but the little devil sitting on my shoulder says it is. It plays through next week, so I don't know. Maybe. What do you all think? I also want to go see SM3 in the theater, but whether or not they are even open here after January 1 is going to be the question (a matinee after school starts back up will be pretty darn empty). Covid is hitting really hard around me, but mostly because of the unvaccinated (and I have been boosted). But, this is at a theater that will be much more lax about everything, so we shall see. My indie theater is also going to be playing Drive My Car starting January 7. I am tempted to go to that.

Some people think that Nightmare Alley was sabotaged by Disney because it’s a Searchlight production (owned by Fox which was bought by Disney) and they decided go against Spider-Man. Although, Spider-Man is both a Sony-Disney production but I’m sure Disney doesn’t want that a Marvel product fail in the box office anyway.
They think Disney is just mistreating all its new adult-oriented properties.

Also, Del Toro was struggling to finish it.

They bought the company not the movie. I guess the logic is that they bought the competition just to let it died.
There is also a polemic because they cancelled the release of this “erotic” thriller,
