Very sad news. He was a wonderful writer. I especially loved The Spy who came in from the Cold book and, of course, the 2011 adaptation of his TTSS.

Such a loss to spy thrillers.😢

I love his spies because they tend to be grey bureaucrats with mostly sad personal lives. They are heroic because they sacrifice too much of themselves for their country but they are also alcoholics, criminals and murderers. There is always a huge moral ambiguity on them. They are far away of James Bond and their kind.

Look at sneaky Bill Haydon in the back. I didn't remember Stephen Graham was in this movie. After seeing this picture I need to watch TTSS again.

Graham role was very short but if they would had made the next book adaptation The Honourable Schoolboy he would had been the leading actor! It seemed they weren't interested in doing that, tho. Probably because Smiley was just supporting there! They announced Smiley's People instead which it also never happened. At least, until now!

Is Smiley's People still happening? (Fingers crossed.)

Is Smiley's People still happening? (Fingers crossed.) Let's hope.
In colours. It's not the same. I like that GO is super in character.
