The only people I’ve seen criticizing the accent are ones who haven’t seen it yet.

Posted on GD: This guy, Riley is not a fan of BC if I remember right, so I prefer this comment to that of erik anderson who hates him.
Riz Ahmed's performance is one of the most talked for awards. I' like the movie being nominated. Obama didn't shut down Guantanamo as promised. Lots of prisoners who still hadn't been prosecuted because they don't have proofs and on the other hand they're pardoning real criminals.

TBH when it was announced, I thought it wouldn't be released in the USA because the theme or at least that it would provoke polemic but things are so crazy right now and the country is so divided that a film that questions America's actions at Guantanamo didn't feel like a huge thing anymore!

Sounds like it will be in the mix for the Oscars for best picture and best actor, maybe best actress. Great accomplishment for an Indy film like this.

Everyone hates Gitmo but they don’t know how to close it down. It’s incredibly unAmerican (as if that means anything anymore). They need to charge those guys with a crime or let them go. We’re running a gulag down there. It’s sickening.
