I’m not even very sure what this poll is for, but Sherlock has to beat Miss Scarlett And the Duke!
I watched Miss Scarlett, and I’ll probably watch a second season if there is one, but it was so bland!
It’s like they thought “Hey! Everyone is into these period shows right now, so let’s get in on it! We’ll make sure it remains relevant to today’s audience, though, by dealing with sexism, racism, sexual orientation, women’s rights, feminism, and whatever else is currently in the news - but everyone will be wearing beautiful 1800’s costumes.” All of that would be fine if they only made the stories interesting. I think we were supposed to be so dazzled by that other stuff that we wouldn’t notice the lack of plot.

The final is between Sanditon and Sherlock. I never heard efore about that show. No wonder they cancelled it.

I remember Sanditon being on, but it didn’t interest me so I never watched it. It might have been one of those Masterpiece series that they only showed in North America.

I remember Sanditon being on, but it didn’t interest me so I never watched it. It might have been one of those Masterpiece series that they only showed in North America. I watched it. It had potential but really went off the rails. The male lead was like a crueler Mr Darcy - all disdain and distance running hot and cold towards the much younger, inexperienced female lead to the point I wondered why the woman would even speak to him much less pine for him, his brother was a tiresome fool, there were racist and strange side plots. By the end I was hate watching LOL! And even so, the ending still managed to disappoint. I felt kind of the same way I felt about Howard’s End - pretty settings and clothes, old-timey manners, but pointlessly cruel or meddling characters repeatedly doing stupid and horrible things for cockamamie reasons ... only in Sanditon the actors we mostly pretty poor too, no Haley Atwell or Matthew McF to watch. So you didn’t miss much.

Howard’s End, the movie with Emma Thompson & Tony Hopkins is one of my favorite movies of all time, so I tried the tv version and it was soooo boring I couldn’t get through it! It had no wit or sharpness at all. The entire novel is about irony, so I guess that’s kind of ironic? 😂
Anyway, Sherlock’s losing against Sanditon. 😕
