I don't understand it.
That is, why do people like it so much?
I watched some of the performances on youtube and the voting.

I think the OTI was our Latin American equivalent but TBH I don’t remember too much about it! Lol The big difference is that at certain point Eurovision decided the camp element of the 1970s was the important factor when I think the OTI adapted to more “serious” times and then disappeared when it stopped being relevant!
That’s my interpretation!

Here again. Not watching, perhaps I'll do the same as last year and watch the video on yt when they'll upload it.
Still baffled about the interest on this. Everyone of the European people I follow on twitter are commenting about each performance. It is very funny.

European here, never cared for Eurovision, never watched and never will. I did read a few days ago on the news that Ukraine is a lock to win as a sympathy vote ? Maybe I have an awful take with this one but I thought that was ridiculous ? It's very unfortunate what's going on there and I wish them the best but I hate when award shows award based on ''political'' reasons instead of awarding the best performance. This happens on every award show, happened at the Oscars etc. and that's why I never watch them/care for them.
Also. If it's called Eurovision, why is Australia participating ? Sorry for the dumb question. I have never really followed the event.

I don't watch Eurovision because I easily get songs stuck in my head (as I hum that song from last weekend).

I guess Ukraine won? I think that’s nice. So what if their song wasn’t the best? (I didn’t see it so I have no way of knowing which was good and which was a bit not good.) They need all the nation building support they can get right now. I just unfollowed someone on Twitter who said it was in poor taste for them to participate because there’s a war on and frivolity is not called for. I’m like wtf? All the more reason! People need good, fun things, too, especially now.
I don’t understand the hate for Eurovision. Seems harmless enough to me. People get a lot of pleasure out of it. 🤷🏻♀️

I didn’t mean to single you out, Magda. I think because it’s weird and awful in a fun way. 😃
