I guess anger rehab. It actually exists! A friend of mine learned to manage her very bad temper after a pair of conferences so I guess a whole program could do wonders.

I don’t think he can participate in any Oscar event, even by zoom, so Jada can accept any future Oscars he wins on his behalf. As some have mentioned, he won’t be able to vote for the Oscars, either, and that’s not something that’s done in person.

Well, he accepting the award via zoom would cause some scandal because Anthony Hopkins wasn’t permitted to do it when he won in 2021.
Yesterday, Polanski and Allen were trending on Twitter and it kind of bothers me because the irrationality of it. I understand they just want to show they aren’t racist or that hate sexual abusers but why they should lie or simply refuse to understand things to show their “good guys” credentials? Polanski was expelled for life even when the accusations against him were for crimes outside the Academy building and ex post facto of their rules (something considered against human rights in democratic nations laws, by the way! Probably that’s because he sued them); Allen is not even a member! He can’t be expelled from a club he doesn’t even belongs! It’s simply logic!
Anyway, I don’t think these kind of activism help their causes. It’s the opposite! It suggests they are fanatics that a) fabricate issues; b) ask for illegal and immoral punishments. Also, why they think the Academy is a vigilant institution? They are mainly about awards, someone committed assault in their awards ceremony so they banned him to enter their building/ceremony for 10 years! It seems fair to me (probably slightly light because I imagine in other places with other people it would be for life but they can’t do that because they indeed applied a similar “life sentence” to a pair of rapists (Weinstein and Polanski)! A much worse crime!) The rest should be in police hands! They aren’t the police!
On the other hand, I just read someone who wants BC to be also banned for 10 years because he applauded when Smith won his award! *facepalm* So yeah, I think Twitter is a fascist state! A religious fascist state! (TBF, most tweets on BC hashtag want him to receive Smith’s Oscar which I think would be humiliating for both of them! So, no!)
I also saw Mel Gibson cited and that’s probably a better comparison but still imperfect because Gibson didn’t attack that policeman on stage but the Academy retroactively expelled Weinstein (a convict so probably fair) and Polanski (surely a rapist but with a more complex not resolved case in which the American legal system was criticized not just by Polanski but also by his victim; so not a convict) so there’s an antecedent and a Gibson directed film was Oscar nominated just one year before Weinstein expulsion, Hacksaw Ridge. The Academy got themselves in this one! (even when they can’t clearly control the votes of almost 9,000 members). Also that movie made me think in the hypocrisy of social media warriors! Remember the Variety actors on actors announcement and how Andrew Garfield crazy fanatics were angry that he was paired with Rachel Zegler! One of the reasons they hated her was because they were “good” people who hate abusers and she accepted to work with one! And according to photos, she was friendly with him on set! The horror! Except that their pure saintly boy actually accepted (Zegler definitely hadn’t the power to chose her co-star in West Side Story) to do a film with an infamous and violent anti-semitic director and was nominated to his first Oscar for it! And no, I’m not judging anyone here, Gibson is a free guy and has right to work (I wouldn’t like to work with him, tho.! But I’m not an actor!). Still, Twitter is hypocritical!

I vacillate between being furious at all these “whataboutisms” being dragged into what was a simple decision for the Academy, and laughing at the Twitter idiots making the list of people who should be expelled longer and longer without knowing the rules of the Academy, who is a member, or even who has already been kicked out. It’s ridiculous. The conversation needs to stop. Smith got his punishment. If he wins any awards in the future, so be it, but considering how long it took him to get this one, I’m not holding my breath for future accolades.

I think the Academy committed a huge error of not removing him (although I also think they feared a negative reaction of leaked images of security men removing a powerful black man but hey! that’s what mature moral people do: take the correct decisions even if they are unpopular) and put the confuse audiences in an awkward position of not knowing exactly what happened (as people at home!) and having to celebrate the supposedly overdue black winner (just the 4th black man to win the category, by the way!). Then there is the unfortunate issue that the images reminded the very controversial images of big Hollywood stars applauding the Polanski’s best director win decades ago. Of course, the context and the “crime” were very different but social media is just gut reactions and ironically that’s what I think the Academy feared and they were right: just see the contradictory reactions of their verdict but hey, someone has to take the right decisions and they didn’t it at the right time.
I don’t know, maybe if they didn’t wanted to make a scene they should had suspend the best actor category. Everyone knew Smith was the winner! At the moment they decided to continue as nothing had happened, they forced everyone there to act accordingly and (kinda) affected other nominees like TPOTD people who were on camera when the guy won.
Not that it’s a big deal because it’s not, tho.!

I saw a tweet yesterday saying that he has 15 years of bad films behind him so 10 years is nothing! Lol He has an award baity movie scheduled for this year. We will see what happens. If it’s good we will know if Hollywood is behind him or not.

I saw that. Is it new? How many Best Actor awards has he gotten now for that role? Must be close to 30. Suck it, Oscars. 😂😂😂

Does anyone know anything about Kirsten Dunst needing to go to rehab for a drinking problem since the Oscars? I had something in my feed this morning about it, but couldn't delve into it because I had to start work. Now I can't find the original comment! Evidently, she had to delay going to rehab because of the aggressive Oscars campaign and how it would impact her chances of winning. I'm not sure if we've heard this before? I know she got drunk when preparing for the movie, but didn't know she was a known alcoholic (as was stated in the comment I saw). Not important in any way, just curious as it's celebrity gossip. I'm hoping there's no truth it in. If there is a grain of truth, I hope she is getting help now. Has anyone else seen this on the threads they're reading? Edit: I'm going to be really upset if this movie caused her to relapse. It completely changes my view on JC's approach if JC didn't stop her drinking for the scenes (they said she did, right?) whilst knowing she has a problem. I also don't think the Oscars campaign should have been put above her own well being. Of course, I don't know if that comment was fabricated or based on reality. I'll google some later to try to find out. Hopefully you guys know more than I do and can offer some insight. Everything is speculation unless they confirm it themselves, but I read that, long ago, she went to rehab for something (anger? alcohol? exhaustion? no idea). One would hope that Jane wouldn't make her drink if she was an alcoholic and that the story was just made up flippantly. I would also hope that they didn't actually drink on set (ie, use colored water instead of alcohol). I also read that Kotsur was destined for rehab, too, so who really knows! I mean, these folks like to speculate for views and clicks.

I googled it and found a bunch of articles about her going to rehab for depression not alcohol in the 2010s.
It’s interesting that BC is still receiving a lot of criticism for saying he smoked too many real cigarettes to the point of hurt himself but I agreed that JC, deservingly if she knew the cast had some addiction problems (but if no, they are adults and she was with her husband on set, so I kind of doubt they wouldn’t be stopped if she had a problem!), would be blamed if she develops an alcohol problem. It’s like men have free will but women don’t!
