TPOTD is also nominated for the Donatello awards, which are supposed to be like the Italian Oscars. They take place on May 3.

The dairy farm up the road owns the cornfield across from my house. And, they have been spreading very ripe cow manure on all their fields.
When I walked outside, I thought "this is what the Burbank ranch might smell like. Haha!"
(Though it might not smell as strong, since those cows were free range and spread out, so maybe this is what Beech smells like, with all the cows coming in all the time).

I wonder if you eventually get used to “farm” smells if you’re exposed to them all the time, and not even notice them any more. I used to have to drive through a rural area years ago to go to work. There were all kinds of smells as I drove past farms and ranches, even with my windows closed!

There’s an enormous stockyard up northeast of me, in Greeley. In the winter everyone knows when it’s going to snow because the wind changes and the smell of manure is all over town. It’s so funny because people actually go around sniffing the air and saying “smells like snow.” Newcomers are baffled as to how we know, lol.

It isn't the same smell level as when you drive by, but manure in all its various stages is pretty rank. And, livestock fart a lot. You still smell it, but it doesn't turn your stomach as easily (kind of like when working in a paper mill - ask me how I know). I wonder how many times they had to reshoot a scene because a horse farted or dropped a huge pile. Haha.

This isn’t an award, but it does recognize the people involved with TPOTD. Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee have been invited to join the Oscars Academy. Also invited are two of the Sound people, Richard Flynn and Tara Webb, and Editor Peter Sciberras.

Nominees became automatically new members the next year after their nominations. Or at least, most of them are! I remember that Mariana De Tavira was invited the next year after she was nominated for Roma but the star, Yalitza Aparicio had to wait one year more. I don't know maybe they have to be in a guild or something. After all, she was not a professional when she did Roma.
