Telluride’s results weren’t something “official”. They are polls by a blog. The person behind it question some of his “professional” friends and then ask to people on social media about their favorite film.
Also Telluride is more “exclusive”. It’s very expensive to go there so not everyone can afford it.There a good number of Oscar voters in the audiences because their association with the festival so in that sense it could be a good measure but we don’t know if Oscar voters send to the blog guy their opinion! There were conflicting reports about how Academy members received the film. Some say people in “the industry” loved Campion’s work and other said they admired it but didn’t loved it. Someone quoted an ex Academy president saying Belfast was the best film he has ever watched! That journalist made fun of him, by the way!
The thing about Toronto is that it’s the “festival of the people” so it probably is a better measure of what general audiences think about the movies and allegedly A+add my voters think more like general audiences and not like critics. Although, most people doesn’t actually go to film festivals in general! But it’s the most accessible of all fall festivals. Next is NYFF which it’s accessible in the sense that it’s in an accessible city (not like Telluride) but it’s MUCH more “snob” that Toronto and Telluride. Belfast won’t be there!

TIFF emailed this video this morning to wrap up another year. Benedict is shown in a couple of clips.
It feels so sad now that it’s all over! What’s the next Benedict event to look forward to? More film festivals. The movies actually coming out. Appearances on talk shows to promote the movies. Magazine interviews with gorgeous photo-shoots and covers. Oscar nominations. Oscar campaigns. Oscar wins!

I think next is the NYFF. The premiere is on October 1th then London Film Festival.
This list is interesting because The Human wasn’t so well received but these are award pundits so maybe it could be a hit with them.

That’s a wonderful review! It makes you want to see the movie without spoiling anything that happens.

There are a lot of errors on mainstream and important news sites that seems unbelievable. Early today, I posted a BC’s interview with my local newspaper mostly about Louis Wain that changed the the name of TPOTD. Later, the newspaper arrived and on there isn’t an error on the printed version! So I’m guessing there is still an editor for that version but apparently not for the digital one. Here are some photos, ibb.co/P4qwr9pibb.co/R4cR5dd(I hope the links work!) EDITED And a link to the digital article (it’s behind a paywall so I copied and pasted it), benedict-cumberbatch.freeforums.net/post/32489/threadHe talks a little about his family which I frequently found suspecting because he never do it with English speaking press! But his kids being happy when he isn’t playing the banjo sounds sincere because clearly the journalist didn’t seem to know he was practicing banjo for a movie and not as a hobby!

He does seem to burst out with comments about his family before he remembers that he doesn’t want to talk about them. Ha!
