Yeah, I also think it will be recorded. I want to think he will be busy doing the festival circuit at the beginning of September and then filming the re-shoots of the Doctor Strange in the last part of the month. Then he is free to do more festivals!

I was just remembering that in previous years, TIFF always posted lists of all the celebrities expected to be there - although it was never guaranteed. But they haven’t done that yet this year.
Although I’d love to see Benedict in person, I want to see TPOTD and Louis Wain regardless. But looking at the schedule of the screenings, I see that there are two “Gala” screenings of Louis Wain at the same time, in two different theatres. If the celebrities do show up, which screening of Louis Wain will they attend? I obviously want to be at the one with Benedict. I suspect that it was just an error, and one of those screening was labelled “Gala” by mistake.
I just did an online chat with someone at TIFF, and she said that because of covid, they have no idea who will be there, if anyone. She told me to keep checking social media, where they’ll post any new information they get.
If there’s still no news by the end of the week, I’ll call and ask about it again.
All of this is assuming that I will be successful in getting tickets!

I just checked the listings and they must have corrected them because all seems in order now.

I think this article is the most exciting and probably/hopefully the most telling of the list of films in festivals pieces, www.blogto.com/film/2021/08/tiff-movies-2021-toronto/Yep, the synopsis isn’t THAT great but the list is by the programmers of the festival. In other words, by people who have actually watched the films and if you see the selection, it’s extremely arty. I think TPOTD and two Cannes titles are the most recognizable of the bunch. There is no Spencer, no The Lost Daughter, no Belfast nor other obvious Oscar contenders. It’s just art house/critics oriented films. So…🤞

It doesn’t sound like this writer has seen the movie or knows the story, because it’s not about a vulnerable woman needing to be rescued. I hope readers don’t go by that description when deciding which movies to see.
