I’m just remembering The Piano. When it came out, a friend of mine refused to see it because it showed scenes of cruelty and violence towards women. She won’t watch anything with any violence, but towards women is an especially huge issue for her. She would never go see a movie described the way the Globe & Mail writer did.

I found out that the TIFF In Conversation interview with Benedict that’s going to be streamed will be free for TIFF members - me! Apparently, we will get an “invitation” when the time comes.
This morning, they sent me an email about Kristen Stewart’s upcoming In Conversation. Hers is September 15, and is probably the first. They’re asking us to submit questions we’d like them to ask her.
This is probably what they’ll do for Benedict when his turn comes up. I’ll have to think up some interesting questions by then!

I’ve always wanted to ask him what his own relationship with time is, as it features so heavily in many of his works. What he thinks of the concept, how he relates to it, how he deals with its pressure, how his life has changed/adapted as he moves through his own particular branch of time…

Such deep questions that would never occur to me!
My instinct is to ask about more Sherlock! Ha!

My questions never get chosen when they ask people to submit them!
Actually, that’s not true! A few years ago, I submitted a question to someone who was going to be interviewing Michael Price and David Arnold, the Sherlock composers. He not only used my question, it was included in his article! Of course, it was under the made-up name I used, so no one but me knows it was me. But it was still very exciting!

I kind of ignored this news because the overwhelming stuff about the film but it’s wonder and she is obviously the second person from TPOTD that will receive a tribute there (alongside BC),

mllemass After reading some of the reviews about TPOTD, I realized that is something I would like to ask BC: does he read reviews of his own work, or does he just put it out there and try not to worry about how its received? Not trying to make suggestions on what you should ask, of course, just that I'm finding this to be a fun mental exercise! That’s a good question! Thanks!
