If I got a new email address wouldn't I have to change all my other password/email security things? There are literally a hundred accounts I'd have to change! Gee, I don't think it would be worth that trouble.
So there's no way to contact a human at Twitter? Or email customer services and explain the problem?

I think you can just use your gmail account for one thing. So you’d have 2 email accounts. Gmail is free.
oh, and you can reach Twitter and sub a help request. Takes about 6 weeks for them to help you, tho (per my experience).

OK, bear with me (I'm not good at stuff like this) - I can just start up a new gmail account (for this Twitter thing) and everything at my old gmail account would stay the same (all my passwords, emails etc.) ?

Reach Twitter how (without a password nor a username)? "Sub" (submit) a help request?

I think if you get another email address you can just set up a new account and bypass Twitter help. I’m not a Luddite, exactly, so don’t take my word for it, tho. 😂

Thank you everyone for all your help!
I finally just created a new gmail account and set up a new Twitter account on it.
It worked. Now I'll see how I can fuck it up! LOL!

Congrats! Now, my problem is I have a red dot on my Tumblr app and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I’ve clicked on everything. 🤷🏻♀️

I'm once again appealing to someone more computer literate than I for some help with Twitter.
I successfully changed my username BUT now I would like to change the moniker that appears in bold print right above your username in your profile page.
I don't know what it is called, sorry!
So when I go to my profile there's a pic I selected in a circle, then a bolded name below the picture, and just below that there is my @_________ (username). I just want to give myself a different "Name" just under the picture in the circle.
QZ, in your Twitter page you have "Benedict Cumberbatch's Hair" in that spot and then your username below that.
How do I change that line? (and what is that called?)

Val, I don’t remember! I did it somehow! 😂 In settings, I suppose, but I do remember it was pretty easy. Let me poke around and get back to you.

I think I found it! Even though I use the same name for both, if you go to “Edit Profile”, it lets you change your profile name, while keeping the username @____ the same.
