I still have my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to see it at least once while it’s playing!

There aren't any showings in my state until Dec. 1.

There are 2 cinemas showing it in my state, in Cambridge outside Boston, but only today tomorrow Wednesday, nothing towards the end of the week
But when I searched I found there had been a showing less than an hour from me in Portsmouth NH in September as part of Telluride by the Sea! (Apparently they show a bunch of films from the Telluride Festival… I had no idea! )
I’m a bit on the fence … part of me would love to see it in a theater and I’m fully vaccinated, but I’m still wary of gathering indoors with random people outside of my bubble.

I felt the same way before going to TIFF in September, but I felt safe and reassured by all the Covid protocols they had in place. And it was the same at this theatre in my city that showed Louis Wain earlier this month, and now TPOTD. They checked IDs and proof of vaccine, and there was hardly anyone there (for the matinee), so I wasn’t anywhere near anyone else.
But I admit that I wouldn’t have done it for anyone but Benedict!

Thanks Magda 👍🏻 You know I think I will wait to see it on Netflix. Then I can FF the bits I find disturbing. Yes. I’m a wimp!

Thanks Magda 👍🏻 You know I think I will wait to see it on Netflix. Then I can FF the bits I find disturbing. Yes. I’m a wimp! There really aren’t any disturbing bits, and if you’re referring to the animals, you won’t have time to fast-forward because those go by in a second. The camera doesn’t linger on any of that, thank goodness! Or maybe you’re referring to Phil’s naked body being disturbing? Ha! You’ll probably pause the movie during those scenes and admire the view! Seriously, though, I had wanted to go see the movie with a friend, and she agreed only if I promised her that there was no violence against women (she’s remembering The Piano). I assured her that there is no violence at all of any kind.

Here it will only be shown at the cineteca but only until a few days before December 1th.
Who knows? Maybe without the pandemic it would have been in more screens. The Irishman had a good run but, on the other hand, Marriage Story was only at the Cineteca, too.

I went to see it again this afternoon - so I’ve now watched it 3 1/2 times! I have a bad headache now because I realized that I was clenching my jaw and scrunching up my face during all the tense scenes. How can it become more tense the more times I watch it? The movie theatre had moved the poster to a different location, and they also put up a second poster - one with George and Phil riding their horses. I spoke to the teenage-looking owner and asked if I’d still be able to have the poster when they take it down. He asked which one I was interested in, and I said the original version. He said that they had been sent more, so he could let me have one after I watched the movie - and he did! I know I said I would refuse to pay for it, but when he asked if $10 was ok, I said sure! I’m so weak! Here it is (taped to my living room wall for me to take the picture). I will have to get a frame for it and hang it up beside my Imitation Game poster. It’s actually printed on both sides - with the reverse on the back. The guy said they print them that way so you can back light it and it would still show. That’s all I need - a lighting system for my poster!

Of course you need an expensive lighting system for your poster! It’s HIM! What kind of fan are you, anyway? 😂😉
