I actually couldn't see that tweet until I posted the other one here. I thought the person had locked their account but when I saw it here, I suspected I was actually blocked! Lol Which it's weird because I don't talk too much about BC in my Twitter account but I "liked" a lot of BC related tweets! Maybe I "liked" the wrong thing! Lol

I would like more info. The Sun article mentioned Ben Kingsley and it seems the story has some connection with India (very Wes Anderson!) and Sir Kingsley is half-Indian-half British.

I found the book on Amazon, so I’m ordering it. The stack of books to read by my bed was finally down to zero, and now I’m back up to three. I read it when I was 12/13, I think. I'm going to need to grab a copy because I remember nothing lol. I'm more excited about this than I ought to be! This is kind of off topic, but is there a handy list of books that BC has been in adaptations of, has recommended, or will (potentially) be in adaptations of? I need to collect something besides craft supplies, so might as well collect everything on such a list.

Netflix France just confirmed it ^
EDIT: Huh... they've just deleted it. Maybe they announced it too early.

You know, I almost posted a remark about the incredibly rude, accusatory tone in that tweet reply to the news, but then figured it didn’t matter … what’s one random rude tweet. But it’s interesting that even when toxic losers try to hide who they are with sock puppets, they can’t help but still show clearly exactly who they are.
The more I hear about this project the more it interests me. WA and BC … I’m very curious to see what they can do together.

I would like more info. The Sun article mentioned Ben Kingsley and it seems the story has some connection with India (very Wes Anderson!) and Sir Kingsley is half-Indian-half British. I read yesterday part of the story. In one of the posts on this thread there was also (a link to) an excerpt of an audio book read by Andrew Scott. It was just the introduction (and I have to say it was kind of boring the way AS read it or I was too tired).
The proper story starts with Henry at a friend's house (a manor I imagine because all his friends are rich) and it's raining and they're bored. They decide to play cards and Henry is left out because they're five. So he wanders into the library but isn't attracted by the books which are too classic (Balzac, etc) and they're only interested in detective stories and thrillers but he sees a thin book which he starts to read and is written by a (white) doctor in India and is the story about the (Indian) man who learns how to see without using his eyes and there are many Indian people (men according to what I read) involved.
I didn't read much more.
I found it here. You just have to read it online.

This is very perplexing,
Wes Anderson is frequently accused of having only "all white cast" but that it's a huge lie and I actually read an article like 15 years ago refuting that accusation but people still insisting!
Just a quick check of his filmography on Wikipedia,
Bottle Rocket:
Lumi Cavazos (leading lady) Kumar Pallana
Rushmore
Sara Tanaka (kinda second leading lady) Kumar Pallana
The Royal Tenebaums
Danny Glover (in a very important role in the ensamble) Kumar Pallana
Steve Zissou
Seu Jorge (not a big role but he sings the songs and because that it's very prominent) Waris Ahluwalia
The Darjeeling Limited
Amara Karan (another leading lady!) Waris Ahluwalia Irrfan Khan Kumar Pallana A lot of India actors in small roles!
Probably Moonrise Kingdom was all white. I have seen it and I don't remember any non-white actor
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Tony Revolori (the lead!) Waris Ahluwalia
The French Dispatch
Benicio Del Toro Jeffrey Wright Both in prominent roles within the ensamble.
So yeah, very perplexing people going for him!

You know what? I think they go after him because they can't imagine non-white actors in whimsical eccentric stories. It's on them! How it's possible you can erase the great Danny Glover from your mind like that? In a lot of ways it is a Gene Hackman film because his character is bigger than life even when it's an ensamble but Glover played the actual decent and mature romantic rival of the amoral guy; And until now, Jeffrey Wright is the only actor from The French Dispatch in the so called "award conversation"! How it's possible people just ignore these actors if it's not because their own prejudices?
