He is the kid from Moonrise Kingdom!
Film Twitter is so stupid! I laughed at the dumb person still trying to accuse Anderson of being a fascist because the 1968 story in The French Dispatch. Again, Truffaut’s student protests and young people in Stolen Kisses were even more frivolous and casual and he actually was there and defended the students in real life! Also they don’t understand what it’s the fascist style!

So according to Rupert Friend, the film contains four stories not three like it was originally reported and three of them are “Henry Sugar”, “The Swan” and “The Ratcatcher”. The last one isn’t included in “The Wonderful Life of Henry Sugar and other six” so it’s a wild guess which will be the fourth! The only thing we know is that it’s one of Dahl’s more adult short stories.
Also according to Friend, the cast is only/mainly the actors already announced playing different parts in each story. That fits with the original news that said that BC was in other stories apart of his lead role in “Henry Sugar”. Friend says he was in two but that he thinks Ralph Fiennes is in all of them. They were shooting “The Swan” when BC had already wrapped it so I guess, he isn’t in that on (It’s about kids so probably there is also some child actors in the cast, by the way). Maybe, he is in three? Considering that was what it originally was announced.
I hope we will get some new info soon!

And I just remembered that there was a site claiming Anderson was adapting The Mildenhall Treasure as part of the The Wonderful Life of Henry Sugar and other six which was odd because that story isn’t part of the book, news.artnet.com/art-world/wes-anderson-roald-dahl-archaeology-treasure-discovery-film-2059438Maybe that’s the fourth story! This one is actually based on real events and Dahl was personally involved with the real life characters. I wonder if that’s the role Ralph Finnes is probably playing in all the stories: Roal Dahl! He looks like him! Although, I think Dahl was younger then. But yeah, pure speculation! (There is an author in Henry Sugar who is writing and listening about Henry Sugar in the short story. Something that directly inspired Anderson for the beginning of The Great Budapest Hotel: a narrative inside another narrative and another, etc.) Anyway, this story sounds a lot like another Fiennes movie: The Dig.

Now wondering when we will have some info/trailer about this film. There is 0 gossip about it being a Venice Film Festival film and who knows? Maybe it’s better considering that very probably there will be a SAG strike that forbids actors to promote films. I totally would like to see BC posing for photos there again and it would be kinda frustrating to see the premiere there without him! Lol But if it’s selected for it then probably Netflix will release something at the end of this month like they did with TPOTD.
I was also thinking that maybe it could go to NYFF. That would be cool, too. I loved the stuff we get from that festival for TPOTD. But if Netflix do the same they did with Matilda then it’s London Film Festival but it’s Wes Anderson so I am waiting for a slightly more “auteur” driven festival (without offending LFF or TIFF!). Telluride is also lovely and, again, we got great stuff with BC and Jane Campion there but that’s more Oscar oriented and apparently it was decided this wasn’t an Oscar film because it’s a short! It’s more a collection of shorts but Oscar pundits still doesn’t know it! Anyway, IMHO Wes Anderson is more Biennale or NYFF.
The gossip movie site (sorry!) World of Reel claimed that Netflix will stream it in November so that should mean an imminent trailer. Festivals or not Festivals!

I’m just speculating! I don’t know nothing!
Now that we know for sure that there will be an actor’s strike, I just hope it’s resolved quickly so workers don’t suffer too much. Especially, crew members who won’t be benefited from any gain actors and writers get and are already suffering since the Covid! But on the most frivolous side, I hope it resolves quickly so we could have shiny photos of BC at a fancy Film Festival! Also new interviews!

And Jane Campion will be part of the Venice jury!
It would be great if the film is selected (again it’s not being predicted!) and BC goes and we have a reunion but it’s complicated by the strike! Hopefully it’s resolved before any festival!

Ok, I found his “source”, www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/new-movies-on-netflixThey edited their old article. It used to said “TBD” and it was called “Untitled Wes Anderson’s Roald Dahl project”or something similar. It seems it’s official. I guess we will have a trailer very soon.
