Dying. I am dead.
I have no idea what they were, either. Maybe some weird RPGLit themed stuff?

I'm with Magda. Can't wait for Magda & Sgev to watch the film. I feel both have fairly good taste in films and would see the faults in it even if our Benedict is in the movie. I also don't understand how we, as Benedict fans, think how his character in his 2nd solo film was treated fairly. I watched the movie and the entire plot is about stopping Wanda. It feels like Benedicts screentime was cut by around 40%. Even when Wanda wasn't on screen the conversation was mostly about stopping Wanda. I wonder how many minutes Benedict had on screen where Wanda wasn't mentioned or on screen at all and where it was just about Strange. Probably not more than 40 minutes if at all. Benedict probably had a total of 1 hour 20 minutes screentime maybe and if you take away the minutes the story was about Wanda it was probably around 40 minutes at most. The first 10-15 minutes was mostly just about Chavez/Strange and some Wong. After that it starts to be mostly about Wanda one way or the other. Even at the end where Strange had a fight sequence with Sinister Strange and 2-3 minutes talking to Christine it was still in the midst of stopping Wanda. Even Benedict jokingly critisized it. Surely he knows best ? I don't understand how cutting his screentime by 40% and making the main plot of the movie about Wanda while Strange fails at stopping her and Wanda stops everything herself all of a sudden is doing Benedicts character justice. If anything it's the opposite. That baffles me It infuriates me as a Benedict fan that barely anyone is talking about Strange and it's all about Wanda. Elizabeth is better, Wanda is more popular etc. Over 70% of the comments of this film I've read are about Wanda/Elizabeth, 20% Illuminati, 5% horror elements, 3% multiverse and maybe 2% is about Benedict/Strange. The entire plot of DS2 is basically about Wanda and not Strange. Him having 4 variants that are on screen for less than a few minutes doesn't make for great character development. The christine scenes were rushed, his sister was brushed off in less than a minute and that was pretty much it besides a surface level ''are you happy ?'' question. At least the 1st DS movie had a very powerful scene between Tilda and Benedict about life and death. That short scene did more for Benedicts arc than this entire 2nd movie. Wanda being the main plot of the movie, having nearly half of the films screentime taking away from over an hour of screentime from Benedict/Strange is detrimental to his arc. How people can't see that is beyond me. It's already difficult to do a characters arc justice in a 2 hour movie, it's usually better in series as you have more time. But Wanda taking away so much screentime from Strange was the death of any character development Strange could have had. I don't expect award worthy character development lol, but it wasn't even on par for your decent superhero flick. Christ, the entire movie was about stopping WANDA. It wasn't about Strange. He wasn't able to stop her in the end as well. The first movie ended with Strange using his intelligence to overcome a more powerful enemy, which is fairly original for a superhero movie. This one ? Wanda basically goes on a mindless killer spree and at the end suddenly goes oopsie, i'm good all of a sudden. I'll go away. I don't remember any other Marvel movie where the main characters screentime in just his 2nd solo movie was cut down in almost half and not just that he ends it by losing. At least Civil War was Chris Evans' 3rd solo movie and he came away the victor in the end. And everyone was talking about him and his popularity was immense. I don't see the same here. I don't care how much money Disney makes. I would rather they don't make a lot of money otherwise they might do this again with DS3, put another major character in it and take away from Benedict/Strange. He was supposed to be the next RDJ/IM by leading the charge but the way he's being treated you'd think they view him as a pawn, nothing more. I mean it's crazy that in DS2 barely anyone talked about Benedict/Strange and the overwhelming majority was talking about how much more popular Wanda is. If people are happy with how they treated Benedict/Strange in this movie by almost making it feel like he was guest starring in his own movie, fine. I wasn't. Just my opinion.

TBH I don’t want him to become the new RDJ! He barely did something else during his Marvel years. Of course, Marvel was something positive in his life because his conflicted past. The company practically saved his career and made him a star (something unimaginable 10 years before) but on the negative side, he lost his edgy taste in movies.
BC is in a very different situation, of course, and his plan seems to finance his own edgy projects and new talents with Marvel money and fame. He explicitly said this in today’s Jaeger-LeCoultre interview. So I hope he continues doing these films but hopefully not all the time like RDJ!
About the box office, it is a big hit but, if anything, there was a feeling that it could had broken records because people were very excited about it. I’m sure if there was a problem Disney knows it because companies do polls about what people like and don’t like. Deadline published one of those in their box office report and BC did very well in it. Much better than Olsen and Wanda so don’t believe crazy social media fans! But I think the multiverse was the favorite theme! So maybe they just wanted more cameos! *facepalm*

sorcerersupreme, rant away! I love it when people rant. Also, I learn a lot by hearing about what other people think, especially when it’s a thoughtful rant and not just “he’s so ugly.” 😃👍🏼

Dying. I am dead. I have no idea what they were, either. Maybe some weird RPGLit themed stuff? Fantasy romcom? I love Thor and I will defend those movies (even if they were kinda cringey and silly.)

Well I haven't watched the film and don't see myself doing so for the foreseeable future because I'm not really a comic book movie type of person.
But I am VERY interested in the box office of DSMOM. I want it to be successful. VERY successful! And I don't mind at all if he does another one or two or even 3 DS movies.
Sorcerer Supreme said:"I don't care how much money Disney makes. I would rather they don't make a lot of money otherwise they might do this again with DS3, put another major character in it and take away from Benedict/Strange. He was supposed to be the next RDJ/IM by leading the charge"
Sorry but my opinion is it's important to BC if his Marvel movies make plenty of $$$$ because then he can continue making OTHER BETTER FILMS and TV projects! And that's what I want to see!
SunnyMarch on its own won't bring in the amount of cash that Marvel movies can and BC needs those big paydays to help finance his production company to make films/projects he's passionate about but that just won't ever be "trending" on Twitter or have the marketing of Marvel.
Marvel is the price to pay, for me, to see things like TCIT, The Courier, Louis Wain, The Hollow Crown and Patrick Melrose. I'm more than willing to pay it.

Wow, I’m amazed at the numbers this is doing! Very impressive, considering half the folks on Twitter thought it sucked, lol.
I wonder if the ancient Roman people complained as much about the circus gladiators as folks do today about CB entertainment on Twitter? “I expected more out of Marcus Grecious today - his character arc doesn’t fit his potential. He should have done better with that tiger.” “Yeah, and the bread today is stale!”
😂

I’m just watching the evening news on tv, and they did an entertainment update. The new Doctor Strange was #1 at the box office this weekend for the third weekend in a row. And I love the clip they show that’s all Benedict!
