Anyone else watching?
Absolute stunner of a series!
Kate Winslet is flawless as the story's protagonist. I had to remind myself she's a Brit and not from Pennsylvania. And she's totally believable as a detective. You never see her "acting".
Sometimes the minor subplots are given too much air, but when it sticks to the basics this limited series is top drawer. The atmosphere on this show is so genuine you the air pollution fills your lungs and you can feel the rust belt decay of small town Pennsylvania in your bones. The grime and sadness of this series doesn't wash off so easy.
Highly recommend it!

I watched it a bit after Kate won her Emmy. It's fantastic! I love the family dynamics, the Americana setting (so far removed from mine), and of course the well-told mystery that thankfully doesn't fizzle out at the end like so many do (and actually finds a new way to keep it interesting). And yes, Kate is phenomenal.
