I've been following that grid since the start. Updated
Nanako is incredible! I started following her again because it is very funny. How can she not like anything? And then we have Sasha Stone:

That post is laughable (and ignorant af) and she’s certainly getting torn apart over it, thank god. You would think someone might know the difference between a bona fide critic and some rando on Twitter saying they didn’t like it.
I am really looking forward to “Banshees.” The trailer made me drop my jaw and of course it has Brendan Gleeson in it so line me up!

About Nanako, the first thing I searched on the new chart was if she had rated “Banshees” and she hasn’t… yet! 😬 It indeed sounds like a great film. I love Irish films anyway! But even when In Bruges is a very good film, I kinda think its humor was slightly cruel. The bad guy killing himself because he thought he accidentally killed a child when it was *just* a dwarf

That was a cruel movie, and I’m expecting a little of the same for Banshees, but it’s the vibe Brendan and Colin have that cannot be beat.

I´m sure this has to do with Bardo because Carlos liked it.

I just saw it and it's ridiculous. The extremely acclaimed Roma is the movie that inspired this wave of "foundational" autobiographical films by famous filmmakers and it was also by a Mexican auteur!
Also I agreed with the Mexican critic there who responded him: Spielberg is better and more beloved filmmaker!
EDITED The tweet isn't there anymore. He probably deleted it! It was very silly and kinda unprofessional because I bet he hasn't yet seen Spielberg's film and he certainly hasn't read any review about it but somehow he is sure his the (very probably more accessible and yes, unpretentious) film will not be accused of the things Iñarritu's movie is accused because he isn't Mexican! Lol

I just saw it and it's ridiculous. I didn't watch any of these movies.
Edit: sgev1977 I thought you were talking about Bardo! Reading your new post I see you were talking about Carlos. The extremely acclaimed Roma is the movie that inspired this wave of "foundational" autobiographical films by famous filmmakers and it was also by a Mexican auteur! Do you mean that Branagh did watch Roma and was inspired by it? Lol. What an awful movie! I still can´t believe the pundits like Feinberg and the Variety guy (Davis?) were championning Belfast for best picture till they switch to CODA. Anyway, I think Roma wasn't a movie who was just autobiographical, about Cuarón, on the contrary it was more about class, race, poverty, machismo, etc. Belfast just passed over what happened around Branagh in the most superficial way. Also I agreed with the Mexican critic there who responded him: Spielberg is better and more beloved filmmaker! Again, I didn't watch the movies and I don't know if one of them is getting a pass and the other isn't. What I don't get is the comparison some people made with 8 1/2 as if it were a bad movie or indulgent. 8 1/2 to me is great (perhaps I already said this).

Oops! It seems he thinks everyone else is guilty of talking about things they haven't watched but not him!
Disappointing but that's what social media do with people's brain. That's why I personally think it's bad idea for celebrities to have their own accounts (although probably some expert could be the answer): people post whatever shit they think at the moment and that could be misinterpreted or just being very silly and disappointing!
Anyway, he answered about the Roma example,
And yeah, maybe it's different. I haven't watched Bardo and probably he hasn't watched Spielberg movie and we all unknown how critics will respond to it but I think the fact that Cuaron decided to center his autobiographical film on his indigenous nanny instead than on him and because that indirectly credited her with his moral center as a person speaks volumes about him and his not smugness!

I think the comparison wasn't about the quality of the film but about Iñarritu supposedly feeling like Mastroianni character. We will know if that's true when we watch the film but I would say that he is kinda like that in his older films, too. And they aren't autobiographical!
