I totally forgot one of things that made Sherlock so different and special - the floating text messages and deductions! It’s so clever and so funny, too.

Oh yes, the three patch problem is fantastic. And the drug bust in the flat with this deeeeep eye contact between sherlock and john! In fact I have favourite scenes in every episode and I don't want to skip episodes but in The sign of the three I have my absolutely favourite quote of 50 years of watching movies and TV. Can anybody guess? I love it so much I got myself a tatoo of it....

I can’t guess because I agree that there are so many great things in that episode! It’s also the only episode that had me crying. . .

What was it that made you cry??? Leaving the wedding early??? My favourite scene is the surprisingly okay scene where john asks sherlock if he wants to be his best man and they double " of course you are my best man/friend!" And he goes on asking "how is it?" And it's not clear if he refers to the tea with the eyeball or to the feeling of having a best friend. For me it was clear as day it was the last, but when I talked to others they didn't realize this.... but it couldn't be only the tea, could it? Sherlock is much more than asking about tea....

Aaahhh, your question about your favorite line! You slipped a The Great Game reference in there LOL: “The clue’s in the name”

The real beauty of that scene is it's all of the above. It's about the best friend AND the eyeball in the tea.
It's the different layers of humour and pathos that makes this show interesting and complex. It's a buddy adventure, a "who done it" mystery, a satirical social commentary and a Bildungsroman all rolled into one.

I have a vivid memory of my sister coming into the room while I was watching The Sign of Three, and she was alarmed at the sight of me because I was wiping my eyes. She asked what had happened, and I told her the show was so funny that I was crying laughing. Later in the episode, Sherlock’s touching best man speech had me bawling, and when they showed the wedding guests also crying at his speech, I cried even more. And then yes, at the end when NO ONE DANCED WITH SHERLOCK and he left early, alone. I still cannot watch that without yelling at the tv “MOLLY! DANCE WITH HIM!”, but she never does.
