It's happening!
But not today! They actually should had announced new titles since yesterday! I'm checking since January but now it's obvious: TPOTD will be released on DVD/BluRay next November!

It's not official until tomorrow so meanwhile here are a few people equally excited like me,
The "negative" reactions are because they normally do the announcement on the 15th day of every month so they will be two days late,

Also I kinda predicted a November release based on other Netflix titles in the collection, benedict-cumberbatch.freeforums.net/post/44285/threadSomeone said that November is their stellar month although TBF all their films are stellar. That’s the point of the collection: they are curated films. EDITED, This! I hope Amy Taubin writes the essay or at least, has some input in the extras. She interviewed Campion in The Piano’s BluRay early this year. I remember they mentioned TPOTD. This will be BC’s first Criterion film and, considering they always release Wes Anderson movies and they have a deal with Netflix, “Henry Sugar” should be the second one! Lol!

I will be buying this (of course!), but do you suppose they’ll have anything we haven’t seen before?
I had to laugh at all the tweets yesterday trying to guess the significance of the paper flowers, and wondering which movie the image represented. If they had watched TPOTD and paid attention to it, they would have known!

The conversation between JC, AW, KD and TS is not new and the BTS footage probably is the one on Netflix but I think the other stuff is new. We have to wait and see.
I also think the essay will be something new and exclusive for the BluRay.

It’s too bad that they can’t put “WINNER OF 12 ACADEMY AWARDS” on the cover!

I don't think they usually do that anyway. They do these very cool cover art with just the name of the film and the director.
By the way, The Piano cover is by the same artist and the booklet with the essay had a lot of other beautiful drawings by him based on scenes from the film. They will probably do the same with TPOTD.
