Ha! Years ago, I stopped by my friend’s house to pick her up to go to a movie. She told me that we needed to make a stop on our way. Her husband was an engineer and decided to get one of those building kits for their twin toddler daughters. But no one had been able to figure out how to put it together, so they were returning it. I asked her if I could give it a try. My friend laughed and said that if her husband and his engineer buddies couldn’t figure it out, there was obviously a flaw in the design. I looked at the picture on the box and at the pieces inside, and I put it together. Ha!
Another time, at that same friend’s house, they had a new giant flat screen tv, in the box, sitting in the front hall of their house. My friend’s husband (the engineer) told me that he was waiting for a friend to come over to help him take it out of the box because it was too heavy for him to do it alone. I had just bought a flat-screen tv myself, so I knew that you don’t take them out of the box. You detach the box and lift it off the tv. So I showed him, and that’s what he did.

I read an article on The Guardian and they were accusing him of all the things Tumblr used to accused him 10 years ago! He was very patient and kind with his answers!
I was thinking that, of course, people should analyze his work and criticize aspects of it but, for example, I don’t think he is misogynistic in real life! Maybe he is, you never know! But he was “managed” by his two producers then they happened to be his wife and her mother (a pioneer on British TV!) Two powerful women and TBH you could see during the events that the one controlling everything was Sue Vertue, not him! I suspect he was the artistic side of the couple but she was the one that made things to happen. That was my impression!
On the other hand, you have people like Jo’s Whedon who always said and wrote the politically correct thing and who was beloved by fans everywhere because the “decency” on his work and well, he wasn’t a nice guy in real life!
Maybe you can praise the work and, why not, the politics but maybe, just maybe never conclude things about people’s real character based on it.

It’s not fun anymore! It’s boringly self-rightful! I wouldn’t have an issue if it were done in a funny way!

It’s not fun anymore! It’s boringly self-rightful! I wouldn’t have an issue if it were done in a funny way! I like a lot of what Moffat writes. I enjoy watching his stuff. He can be really clever. And, there are a lot of authors whose stuff I really love reading, too. These folks can be so brilliant. And, then, sometimes, they can be such insufferable pricks who have their heads shoved so far up their asses they can see what they are having for dinner tomorrow night. But, that isn't the funny part. The funny part is that we ALL can be that way at some point or another, at least to someone else. I think it is a fundamental human trait that sometimes, we can find other people to be eye-rolling annoying and also be eye-rollingly annoying ourselves. The most annoying person in the world is the one you are currently annoyed at, after all. All others pale in comparison. Or, maybe it is just me who can be really annoying? Yeah, probably just me, since I often annoy myself.

I don't even like Moffat's stuff! It really is not my thing. Lol I was never the biggest Sherlock fan neither.
I just think that it is silly to still be angry at him and thinking he is a bad human being because the way he represented a female character 10 years ago!
Maybe it's time for journalists to think some new questions and let it died! But what do I know?!

Ok - I’m going to pretend you didn’t just say that! I’m going to cover my ears and go “La La La - I can’t hear you!”
Ha!

I moved the post on Moffat to this thread.
I think Moffat knows how to write funny and entertaining things. Some of his Doctor Who episodes are really good. I think A Study in Pink is very good. I should watch again A Scandal in Belgravia and His Last Vow because I only watched them once (the horror!).
