Wow. That’s amazing. Yesterday I was out visiting with a scientist friend who came into town (she works at NASA), and she briefly worked with Musk a number of years ago. She said he was completely clueless as to human interaction. Just didn’t get it. She’d never seen anything like it. He didn’t know what to say/how to respond to others, made jokes that weren’t funny, didn’t understand what people said to him, couldn’t pick up on social cues at all, etc. Like watching a robot trying to imitate human behavior and failing. But sure, let’s sell this guy an enormous social media platform. Crazy stuff.
I’m sure I’ve told this before . . . Years ago, my friend had moved to Seattle and got engaged to a guy who once worked at Microsoft. When I first met him, I asked him about it, making sure it was the place where Bill Gates worked. Yes, he told me. I asked if he knew BG in person, and he said they would run into each other occasionally. I asked him what BG was like, and he said he was nice, but often preoccupied. He would usually say to my friend’s fiancé “What was your name again?”. I guess it’s understandable that when you’re busy thinking up amazing tech stuff you can easily forget names. So being socially awkward might not be unusual for people in that line of work - even those high up. But that shouldn’t make them jerks!
(By the time they got engaged, my friend’s fiancé had already left Microsoft. He told me that there was a place near Seattle full of computer companies, and everyone who lived there worked in computers.)
He is autistic and he has openly talked about it but agreed that he isn’t the right person to manage a social network.
The funniest part of the Chapelle video is that some tried to claim it was because they were in San Francisco so it was a woke audience but Chapelle audience isn’t woke! He was “cancelled” by the woke years ago!
Well, as a curiosity I want to inform that I just received a notification of an account I denounced ages ago being blocked! I sometimes do that just to see if Twitter reacts or not and sometimes the results were depressing. I mentioned the example of a black rights activist calling a Mexican person “taco eater” being found no racist at all but another one were the actually multiple Tweets celebrating Salman Rushdie attack months ago being ignored. Well, Elon Musk company finally blocked at least one account.
EDITED It doesn't mean he is great, of course! But that was actually a very offensive tweet and the the kind of thing it was ignored because the people committing the violation to the rules were considered untouchable.
Haha! He did say the limit is temporary, but who knows? That man is an idiot! Imagine taking a fairly decent, multi-million dollar platform, and running it into the ground so quickly, mainly because the people who use it hate you, the owner? Thin skinned little pr*ck.
TBH I thought he was doing something like The Producers and was intentionally trying to destroy it! Lol But I guess they were really having some technical issues and they tried to fix them that way!
It seems it’s working for me right now! Actually, it never stopped working on my phone only on my iPad but yeah, I found it hysterical! I mean even the sad people who are paying him money have a not actually too many Tweets they could read in a day!
