Rumors about Doctor Strange 3. Don't worry that the date they're talking about is 2026. Lots of time for BC doing other things.

As far as performances: I refuse to watch DSinMoM or the other DS movies, except for the 2016 DS. Well, I‘m in the section of fans who aren‘t really into Marvel movies and would want BC better out of any at all. I hate horror movies to boot! I agree with you! I’ll watch him in Doctor Strange because I’ll watch him in anything, but I have no interest in superhero movies. I wish he’d do something else so I don’t have to sit through yet another one!

I'm not a comic book film person either.
I did like DS and thought Scott D did a good job (as far a comic book movies go). I finally saw DS 2 and didn't really get into it. Too overblown and a waste of BC'S talent. Not a big Sam Rami fan (don't like horror movies at all).
So if the rumours are correct and SD is in control of DS 3, then I might be curious as to what he would come up with, enough to try one more DS movie. I thought SD understood the character of Strange in a way that Rami never did.
But it's not a priority with me. Personally I really want to see BC in other projects (as long as it ISN'T a musical!!). But I fully appreciate he "pays the freight" by taking on Marvel work so I don't have any objection to him doing them. It's like his animation work - commercially appealing, wider audiences appeal, gives him variety, added income that he can plow back into less commercial/more artistic projects.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/disney-content-marvel-star-wars-bob-iger-1235346999/Bit off topic here and maybe i'm reaching but interesting comments nonetheless. I wonder if he includes or excludes Dr Strange from this sentiment. I feel like Iger is contradicting himself by saying quality over quantity yet says there's nothing wrong with the volume of Marvel storytelling WHICH is one of its biggest issues. Either way, unless they give their creators full creative control, not much will change. Disneys entire MO is acquiring popular IPs turn them family/kid friendly (twisting their original artistic intentions such as Pinocchio, Little Mermaid, Pocahontas etc. ) and destroy the value of those brands eventually to the point of no return.

We will see but Dr Strange was their biggest hit last year. At least worldwide (if I remember well, Black Panther did slightly better in the USA and, of course, received some awards recognition even when the reviews were worse! Lol). Right now, it’s their more popular character according to box office numbers.

Also Waldron is writing some Avengers movie so luckily he will stay away from DS3.
