I'll just be happy to see him in something new! I haven't seen him in any non-Dr. Strange role since Sherlock season 4.

This tweet appeared today - Attachment DeletedAnyone know what's it about? Is it something new or just an already announced project that is being tweeted about again?

Is Benedict having difficulty getting high profile jobs? I havent followed him too closely but it seems he has been stuck in mediocrity ever since Dr Strange? Patrick Melrose was the only decent bit he did. Not that that movie was that great to begin with. I mean Ben did a lot of tv shows and some disappointing films like TCW and Mowgli. What's going on? Someone like Ryan Gosling gets the best movie opportunities while Benedict is a far superior actor. I hope we get to see Benedict in more fantastic films as opposed to mediocre film after film.

If you didn't think Patrick Melrose was good, BC probably isn't the actor for you. He's always been more about quality independent films, theatre and British TV than big franchise blockbusters. Projects like Marvel and the Grinch are useful to finance his production company, but they've never been his only focus.

Well I guess your opinion of a "fantastic film" is very different from mine. PM WAS a fantastic film to me! So was Brexit. And so was The Child in Time.
They just weren't comic book hero films.
And a LOT of critics (and other fans) seem to agree with my estimation of the excellence of Patrick Melrose.
As for the rest of your post sorcerersupreme, I'll just say "ditto" to what onebluestocking said and leave it at that.
Btw: you do know that BC is doing ANOTHER DS movie, right? Wouldn't that be considered "high profile" - as in starring as the titular character in a major big studio project?

I would love a BC/Naomi Watts project! I got the feeling that the term "releaseS" was used because these were 3 separate projects. The company/producer specialises in short films.

I think so, too. I was just day dreaming.

I may be wrong because obviously I don’t know the guy but I think BC has just the career he wants. He has consistently said that his career objective is longevity and that he wants to live in the UK. He also now has a family that he presumably wants to raise and educate in the UK and spend as much time as he can with.
If he wanted to focus primarily on big budget movie roles he would need to spend more time in the US so that would not fit well with having his home and family in the UK.
As it is he has his Marvel high profile and big bucks role and a range of other projects in film and TV as an actor and producer. Pretty much the perfect set up for his stated life and work ambitions I would have thought.
